I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Bye, Baby & Movie:

Books: Bye, Baby

Today we are recommending Bye, Baby by Carola Lovering. Cassie and Billie grew up together and were inseparable so who would ever imagine that one day Billie would be responsible for the kidnapping of Cassie's baby. Even though there is never a mystery as to who did what, this book is still intensely gripping and keeps you wanting to read.  It is about friendship toxic friendship and true friendship and knowing the difference between them and when to let a friendship that has run its course go. The character of Billie in particular is so relatable.  She just can't give up her friendship with Cassie even though it's clear that the friendship has run its course, and Cassie is and always was a gold-digging social climber who doesn't think Billie is good enough for her.  Cassie, on the other hand, is a much harder character to like although her devotion to her daughter is admirable. Other characters in the book who are likable include Billie's boss, Jane, and Billie's boyfriend, Alex. They are examples of what true friendship and caring are like.

Today we are talking about Crypto Shadows. This film is about a woman who discovers a message from an unknown source while coding. When she tries to find out more, it puts her life in danger. This is mostly a movie about staring at computer screens and running around and hiding and trying to fight off mostly unseen assailants. It is not always easy to know what is going on and a lot of the time it seems like hardly anything is happening. It is mostly a film for computer nerds and those who are convinced that there are living creatures on other planets who want to contact us.

Crypto Shadows is available for purchase or rental digitally now.

Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
