Tuesdays with Morrie is a book by journalist, Mitch Albom, published in 1997 It is a memoir based on his visits to and relationship with his college professor/mentor, Morrie Schwartz, late in Schwartz's life when the professor suffered from Lou Gehrig's disease. The book was turned into a TV movie in 1999. Now, it has been turned into a stage play as well.
Seadog Theater's current production of the play co-stars Chris Domig in the role of Mitch and the legendary, Len Cariou in the role of Morrie Schwartz. Physically, Cariou may have lost a few steps but his acting skills are as sharp as ever. His performance is so deeply affecting that at the end of the show, all you see in the audience is a sea of tear-streaked faces.
Domig does a nice job in the role of Mitch as well. He plays the part with a kind of puppy dog earnestness. He and Cariou have a nice rapport that really makes their relationship sparkle. The connection between the two shines through in every moment of the play and gives it a deeply emotional core. You won't want to miss the opportunity to see these two talented performers in this beautiful show.
