I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Misc.: i-phone 5s and Madonna Rebel Heart

This post may contain affiliate links, if you click on a link and make a purchase, we may be compensated.
Me - Today I am recommending the i-Phone 5s. It is an amazing phone. It is the best phone I ever. It is really easy to navigate. It has some usefuls apps. and features. It also has a lot of fun games.

Mom-

I participated in the Madonna Rebel Heart album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own.

Today I am recommending Rebel Heart by Madonna. This is Madonna's 13th studio album. While it is not my personal favorite of her albums, there is a lot to enjoy here. Madonna's voice is as strong  as ever, and I appreciate that she enunciates fairly clearly which is a rarity with today's musical artists.  However, there is a lot of  inappropriate language and adult subject matter so I would not recommend the album for children or anyone who objects  to or is offended by such things in their music. The album does, in fact, come with a warning sticker. The language and subject matter does seems to take away from the album somewhat since the best songs are the ones that do not contain inappropriate language or adult subject matter and without them it would have had a much greater reach. Nevertheless, there is still a lot to enjoy about the album. Living for Love is upbeat and easy to dance to. Ghosttown is hauntingly beautiful. Joan of Arc is achingly sweet and sad. The album's title song Rebel Heart is also very pretty. To order this album or any of the tracks on it on iTunes  go to: http://bit.ly/REBELHEART. To hear a sample track from the album see the video below.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.

Monthly Mash-up for March, 2015: Teenage Boys and Old Familiar Experiences vs. New Experiences

Me - My topics for this month is teenage boys. Ugh, not wow! Teenage boys are annoying especially middle school boys. They are so confusing. You can never tell what they're  thinking. One day, they act one way and the next day they act completely differently. Otherwise, sometimes, they just keeping acting the same way even though the way they are acting doesn't make any sense. They are very immature. They act stupidly and rudely. They are mean. I hate teenage boys. I can't wait until I am older, and I don't have to deal with boys that age any more.

Mom - My topic for this month is old familiar experiences vs. new experiences. New experiences are nice. It is nice to see a see a show or movie you've never seen before. It is nice to go to an amusement park or museum or some other place you have never been. Over the last year or so, our family has been  lucky enough to experience lots of fun and new experiences. We have enjoyed all of them (although maybe some of them more than others). I was beginning to feel like I never wanted to do anything I had already done again. I just wanted to keep having new experiences all the time. However, recently, I took my younger daughter to see the show Mamma Mia. It was her first time seeing the show, but it was my third. As the lights went down and the orchestra started playing the overture, I realized I felt just as excited and happy to being seeing the show as I had the first time (and the second time too). It made me realize that new experiences are nice but sometimes doing (or seeing) things that are familiar can be exciting and fun too.

And that's our view too. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.

Funny Friday - Can I Phone A Friend?

 Me -

When my brother was little, he wanted to call his friend, when he called and his friend's mom answered and asked him who was calling, he got so nervous that he asked my mom "What's my name again?"

Mom -

When my stepson was little, he kept begging to call his friend. So finally, we let him call. He called and got his friend on the phone. After they both said hi to each other, they sat on the phone with each other for five or ten minutes without saying another word to each other. Finally, we made him say goodbye and hang up.

We welcome you to share your funny stories with us.

Tune in Sunday for the Sunday Scoop.

Sony Wonder Technology Lab

Me - At Sony Wonder Technology Lab, there is so much to do. Your ticket tells  you exactly what time your museum visit is scheduled for. First, you go up the elevator to the fourth floor. The first thing you do is create an ID for yourself using your name and the machine takes a  picture of you, and then you pick designs to decorate your ID.You use your ID to access all of the interactive exhibits. Most of the exhibits are interactive but not all. I really loved the exhibit where you could make your own cartoon movie. You could pick your own characters and setting. I also really loved another exhibit where you could create your own movie preview. You could choose what scenes and characters to include. In another exhibit, they had a music mixer where you could change up music by putting in and taking out different instruments. There was even a video game builder. The only game you could make was a car game and I usually don't like car games, but  it was fun. They had these three giant Playstation 4 games you could play. There was baseball, basketball and auto racing. I liked the baseball one but I didn't like the other two. Maybe, because I don't like basketball or autoracing. Over all, Sony Wonder Technology Lab was a really fun place.*

*The above is a guest post by younger sister Aurella

Mom - Here are ten (10) great things about Sony Wonder Technology Lab
1) A visit to the museum is completely free
2) You can create your own digital profile to use throughout your visit which includes:
       your name
       your favorite color
       your favorite music genre
       your picture
       a recording of your voice
3) You can enhance your digital  photo using patterns and accessories and you can even send it to a person at another Signal Station.
 4) You can program a robot.
 5) You can learn about nanotechnology and how technology keeps getting smaller and smaller.
6) You can perform virtual open heart surgery.
7)You can learn about basic animation and/or you can create a character or design a CG world.
8) You can create your own racing game
9) You can create a whole new mix of a classic Alicia Keys song
10) You can test Playstation 4 games

Fun and free what a great combination!

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Funny Friday.

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Sony Wonder Technology Lab

What:Sony Wonder Technology Lab

Where: 550 Madison Avenue
              New York, New York

Who: All ages
Our view: If you are in New York City, and you want some absolutely free and fun entertainment, check out Sony Wonder Technology Lab. Sony Wonder Technology Lab is a a technology and entertainment museum. At the lab, you will have the opportunity to learn about technology in a fun way. Kids will love it because except for very small children, they should be able to do just about everything on their own and also because it deals with a lot of many of kids' favorite things including video games, animation, and robots. However, it is  not just a museum that is fun for kids. It is fun for everyone.

You can perform virtual surgery.

 You can control a robot.
You can build your own game.
These are just a small sampling of the things that you can do at this museum. Also, at the lab, you can actually see how technology has changed over the years in a series of exhibits of phones, audio, TVs and computers through the years.
The museum does require a  lot of walking. It is four floors. You start at the top floor which you reach by elevator  and walk your way down. However, it does not feel like a lot of walking, and there are no stairs only ramps so it easily accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. Also, even though the museum is free, tickets are required. There are a certain number of walk-up tickets set aside each day, however, reservations are highly recommended particularly on weekends or holidays or times when school is closed. The summer months are the busiest. Reservations must be made at least seven (7) days in advance and can be made as much as three (3) months in advance. Reservations are not only for a specific day but for a specific time as well. To make ticket reservations call the group coordinator at (212) 833-8100 between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM Tuesday - Friday. There are also free movie screenings on Saturdays as well as various special programs and events. Reservations are required for movie screenings, and the tickets go fast. Reservations can be made up to two (2)  weeks in advance. For a list of upcoming movie screenings go here http://www.sonywondertechlab.com/programs-events/screenings. For more information about the museum go to http://www.sonywondertechlab.com/.

And that's our view. Tune in to tomorrow's Talking Topics post where we will be talking more about Sony Wonder Technology Lab.

Tips for Tuesday: TV Shows: The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Unique Sweets

This post may contain affiliate links. If you click on a link and make a purchase, we may be compensated. Any and all opinions expressed are completely our own.
Me- Today I am recommending The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It is a really funny show. It is a lot different than a lot of the other shows I have watched before. My favorite character is Carlton.  He is so funny. I love when he dances. He is a great dancer. I also love Ashley. She is funny too. Also, she s really pretty. The Fresh of Bel Air a really entertaining show.
Mom- Today I am recommending Unique Sweets. If you have an extreme sweet tooth like I do, this is the show for you. Watching this show, you will learn about all kinds of incredibly delicious looking and sounding desserts made in all different places all over the country. Episodes of this show have included Cute and Sweet, Chicago's Coolest Doughnuts, and Colorado Sweets. Desserts covered have included Biscotti Butterscotch Budino, Caramel Cube Cake, and Grilled Corn Butter. This is also a good show for building up your appetite. If you are not hungry when you start watching this show, you will be by the time you are done. Unique Sweets can be found on The Cooking Channel.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
