I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Hats

Me- Hats, wow! I enjoy wearing hats. I don't have very many except I have a ton of baseball caps. I don't really like hats for the winter. In fact, I don't like them at all. My mother always gets mad because I go out in the cold with nothing covering my ears. When I was young, I had this hat that was purple with colorful flowers all over it. It looked like something someone might wear if they were in the desert. I called it my waitress hat. It was my favorite hat I ever owned. However, it got too small, and, we gave it to Aurella. I am not even sure if she still has it. Now, my favorite hat is  a gray hat with a pink bow on the side and a sun visor in the front. My other favorite hat is a knit yellow and blue hat. I like to wear it low down on my head  and pin it with bobby hats. It is supposed to be a warm weather hat, but it doesn't keep my head very warm. I just like it. I have a matching yellow and blue hat that goes withit. I love that too. It is my favorite jacket. Hats are so awesome, but I don't wear them much.

Mom - I love hats. I hardly ever wear them, but I love them. I don't like winter hats. I don't even wear them. I just wear something that covers my ears. I love fancy hats. The kind of hats that somebody like Princess Diana would have worn. Not stupid looking hats like some of those people at William and Kate's wedding wore. Nice looking fancy hats that really complement an outfit. However, there are not many occasions for regular people like me to wear those kind of hats especially since I don't celebrate Easter. I usually see them on royalty and celebrities. I also like straw hats. I especially love straw hats with a ribbon hanging down the back. I have one of those that is my favorite hat ever. I got it on my honeymoon in Hawaii. I saw it, and I absolutely had to have it. However, I hardly ever have an opportunity to wear it. I guess maybe if I went to the beach more I would, but I don't. I would love to get more hats, lots and lots of hats. I don't though because the type of hats I like I don't have much occasion to wear so I end up just accumulating them. So I try not to buy them and stick to getting shoes instead because I love  shoes too but at least when I get I  wear them a lot. When I buy hats, I don't.

Blogging

Me - We've been blogging for over a year, wow! Boy, have we had some issues! A lot of the time we fight. In fact, sometimes I threaten to quit the blog. But I always love Mom. Almost every week, we stumble over topics. We each come up with a ton before we agree on one to write about. We have a binder full of potential topics but that doesn't usually help us. Sometimes, if I'm too busy with school work or not feeling well or something, my sister does a guest post. That's when you see the note saying that the above is a guest post by Aurella. It's hard to believe Mom and I have already been blogging for over a year. Even though sometimes it's hard, over all, it's worth it, and I enjoy spending the time with Mom.

Mom - Last month, on January 20, we past a milestone, but we've just been so busy we didn't even have time to acknowledge it. We have been blogging for a year now. January 20 was our first Blogoversary. I can't believe we have been blogging for over a year. It hasn't always been easy. Melia and I don't always agree on what to blog about or even when to blog at all. Sometimes, it's just hard to find the time around schoolwork, laundry, and various other commitments. However, over all, it's been fun. We both love writing and enjoy sharing our writing with each other and with our readers. I've visited a lot of other great blogs and virtually met a lot of nice people. I've participated in a lot of blog  hops and won a lot of nice things. Hopefully, next year, we'll be able have more giveaways on our own blog. I would really like to get into participating in some giveaway hops where we give something away too. There are so many great blogs out there all the time. I can't even keep up with them all. However, since we don't really make a profit from our blog, we don't want it to cost us a lot of money either so we have to be selective about what we can participate in. This year I would like to get back to participating in regular blog hops not just giveaway blog hops. I would also like to build up our following especially because I expect it will drop off some after the change goes through and non-blogger blogs are no longer allowed to follow using Google Friends Connect. I would also like to introduce some new things from time to time and change things up at bit.  We are never going to be a blog where you can find out where the good deals are or where you can find recipes or or a book blog or anything like that. There are plenty of blogs that do those things very well. We are not trying to be those things. We just want to be a fun blog to go to.  A blog where you can join our discussion of anything and everything and maybe sometimes even find something just a little bit different and fun.

And that's our view. Tune in Monday for another topic.

Seasons

Me - Seasons, wow! I really don't like winter. Between the chilly and air and the snow it's too much of a hassle. Two things I like about winter are my birthday is in the winter and sometimes it's a pretty sight to look at snow covering the houses and treetops. Spring has great weather.  The weather is usually just right not too cold or too hot just like the porridge in The Three Bears. It's a great time to go out and play with friends and ride a bike and scooter and roller skate. It's a wonderful time for taking classes and going to the park. Also, the spring is the perfect time to change your wardrobe, after a while, I get sick of my clothes. However sometimes, spring gets too hot or too rainy. I really don't like summer. It's so hot! I do like that if it isn't too hot you can go outside and play. I love the fact that there is no school. That is pretty much the only thing I like about it though. Fall is another wonderful time to change your wardrobe. I love the pretty colors of the leaves. I don't like the fact that it is starting to get colder. I don't like having to go back to school. All the seasons have their ups and downs so I don't really have a favorite.

Mom -I don't really have a favorite season. There are good and bad things about them all. I like the winter because my birthday is in the winter. I don't like getting older but we usually go out to dinner, and we always have an ice cream cake. Snow is beautiful when it's not dirty, but it is a nuisance. I especially don't like having to drive in it. I like when the kids have snow days and we can stay home in our pajamas instead of going out in the cold. I like spring because it gets warm again and the flowers grow. I don't like it because it usually rains a lot. I like summer because we do not have to keep to a schedule as much. I like going swimming except I hate having to change into my bathing suit and everything before and change out of my bathing suit and everything after. I don't like the summer because it gets too hot. I don't like cold weather either but at least when it's cold you can bundle up, when it's hot especially when you are outside there is not much you can do. I like the fall because when the leaves turn colors it's is really pretty. Everything starts again in the fall. I also don't like the fall because I hate getting away from the laziness of the summer and getting back into the routines of the school year. I always regret that I never get as much done over the summer as I plan to. Although actually, I almost always feel like I don't get enough done as I would like to do. There is just too much to do all the time in the winter, spring, summer and fall.

And that's our view. Tune in again for another topic.

Pajama Days

Me- Pajama Days, wow! I love having pajama days! Sometimes on the weekend if my family doesn't have to go out, my Mom, my sister and I just hang out in our pajamas, watch TV,  and talk. Not often do we get to have these days because we are always so busy. It is a treat to get to stay home in our pajamas. My Mom and sister and I love having pajama days. My Dad almost always gets dressed even if he has nowhere to go. I don't understand why. My Mom and my sister, and I love having pajama days. In winter, it's especially nice to not have to get dressed and have a pajama day instead. When it's so cold, I just love the feeling of not having to get dressed and put on something else even though you will probably get warm again eventually. Maybe, after reading this post, you will want to have a pajama day too. Try it, you'll like it!

Mom - In our house, we love having pajama days, one of those days where we don't even bother getting dressed but just hang around in our pajamas all day. We don't wait until somebody is sick to have a pajama day either. We love having pajama days especially in the winter time when it's cold. However, sometimes we even have pajama days in the spring or summer. We just love those days where we don't have anything special to do or anywhere special to go and we can just hang around in our pajamas. We usually watch a lot of movies on those  days or episodes of TV shows which we have accumulated on our DVR. We do a lot of family bonding. After all, being a family is not just about what you do when your really busy and have a lot of things to do. It's about what you do when you don't have anything special to do too. Sometimes, those times end up being some of our best days of all. We usually laugh and joke and have a lot of fun on pajama days. I mean there is something about hanging around in your pajamas all day that just makes everything seem so much more fun. It's like a giant slumber party all day. My girls and I just love our pajama days.

Baths vs. Showers

Me - Hi. I like taking baths.  I have a bunch of bath toys. I love to play in the tub. I also love taking showers. I play there too. I sit on the floor and play with my toys. My Mom washes my hair, and then I play while she washes herself, and then I wash my body and wash out my hair. I also sometimes play in the shower while my Mom gets out of the shower and gets herself ready in the bathroom. Sometimes, I even play with my toys on the bathroom floor while my Mom takes a shower. I keep my bath toys in a big purple box. Sometimes, I like to play with them even when nobody is taking  a bath or shower. It's nice to get clean, but all I really care about is the toys. In fact, thinking about the bath toys makes me want to play with them so I am going to play with them now. Bye*

* The above is a guest post by younger sister, Aurella as dictated to Mom.

Mom - I am a shower person. My husband is a bath person. The girls sometimes take baths and sometimes take showers. Aurella mostly cares about playing with her bath toys anyway. She is the only person I know who actually plays with her bath toys even in the shower. She just sits on the floor of the shower and plays. I don't like baths because they make me feel like I am sitting in my own dirt. I like showers because they are quick. I guess some people can linger in the shower for a long time, but I don't. I guess some people like to do their thinking in the shower or find it relaxing or whatever. I don't. I just want to get clean and get out. The only time I ever really took a lot of baths was shortly after Aurella was born when my arm was bothering me. All of the sudden, my arm just started hurting all the time. I think it was from the strain of caring around the baby in the baby carrier. In any case,  the only time my arm didn't hurt was when I was in the bath so I started taking long frequent baths. I would even wake up in the middle of the night and take baths just to get some relieve from the pain. That lasted about a month or so. I never did find out what was wrong, but thankfully it finally went away, and I went back to taking showers.

And that's our view. Tune in Monday for another topic.
