The Assassination of Julius Caesar as Told by William Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw, as the title suggests, is a combination of Julius Caesar as presented in Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Julius Caesar and Julius Caesar as presented in George Bernard Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra. It is also about a group of people putting on a play about Caesar although we never learn who they are or anything about them. They are not even given character names.
Whether Caesar was a good leader or a tyrant may be debatable, but he clearly was a dictator. Currently, when it seems like every time you turn around a new dictator is popping up somewhere, the show is scarily relevant. This is clearly a very good time for a cautionary tale about a dictator. However, although the concept for this particular show is interesting and exciting, the show itself can be confusing and hard to keep track of.
