I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Food & Fashion

What: Food & Fashion

Where: Museum at FIT
             Seventh Avenue at 27 Street
             New York, NY

Who: Recommended for School Age Children and Up

When: Through November 26, 2023

Food and fashion are two of our basic necessities. The latest exhibit at the Museum at FIT focuses on the intersection of these two needs. There are clothes that resemble a specific food like a pocketbook shaped like a loaf of bread or a dress with a corn pattern. There are clothes that resemble a particular food item specifically like a Hershey's chocolate bar or a Coca-Cola can or just generally like a layer cake. There are clothes that incorporate food-related items either indirectly like an apron with a pattern of kitchen gadgets or directly like an outfit that incorporates silverware or napkins as part of its design. There are clothes that don't necessarily resemble food but are fashioned sustainably from food products. There are so many ways that food and fashion can intersect and all are represented in this fascinating exhibit.

The exhibit is free to view as are all Museum at FIT exhibits. The availability of a free family guide on site makes it perfect for children as young as elementary school age. The guide provides fun ways to interact with the exhibit.

And that's our view. For more about the Food & Fashion exhibit at the Museum at FIT visit www.fitnyc.edu/museum/exhibitions/food-and-fashion. For more about the Museum at FIT in general, https://www.fitnyc.edu/museum
