I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Welcome to the Silly Pumpkins Giveaway Hop

hosted by Mama the Fox

How did pumpkins become associated with Halloween? Why do we send cards on Valentine's Day? How did the tradition of April Fools Day get started? There is so much about the holidays we celebrate that we just take for granted and we don't necessarily understand or know how or why that part of the tradition came to be. However, if you are interested in knowing more about the background of many of the most cherished holiday celebrations, you are definitely going to want to read Linda Weaver Clarke's new book, Understanding Holiday Traditions. This book is a very informative look at the how and why various holidays were created and how they came to resemble the celebrations we are familar with today.
