Me- Today I am recommending Draw Free. You are given choices of things to draw. You chose one and draw it on your screen. Somebody else is playing against you, they have to guess what you've drawn. Then, you have a turn guessing what somebody else drew. If somebody guesses what you drew you get points. Points get you bombs that help you eliminate letters of what the other person's drawing can possibly be or you can get new colors that you can draw with. This game is fun and addicting. What I don't like about it is that a lot of people cheat and spell-out what they have drawn just to get the points and some don't even try to draw anything at all they just spell out a word.
Mom - Today I am recommending The Origin of Everything. The Origin of Everything is a PBS Digital series that explores why things are they way they are and also delves into the truth of urban legends. The show is hosted by Danielle Bainbridge, a Yale doctoral candidate. The series is interesting, informative and fun. It is quick to watch too with episodes lasting only about 8 to 10 minutes. Recent topics explored on the series have included Why Is There a North and South Korea and Why Are 18 Year Olds Considered Adults as well as two Halloween episodes exploring Urban Legends, the first about poisoned Halloween candy and the second about killer clowns. For links to view the Halloween episodes, see below.
Poison Halloween Candy
https://youtu.be/KcfkNr9R-T8
Every year around Halloween, we hear the same concern: you gotta check the candy for poison because strangers put laxatives in Tootsie Rolls, Razor Blades in Apples and heroine in Snickers. But is this trick or treat dilemma an actual reality or just a clever way for your parents to steal your candy?
Scary Clowns
https://youtu.be/T5_Li2whOHA
We all know that 1980s horror movies like IT and Killer Klowns from Outer Space led to the cultural phenomenon of "scary clown," did you know the reality is much deeper than that? From the Middle Ages through the Renaissance to 19th Century England, clowns have always been around to bring a little chaos. And the truth is, up until the late 1800s they were NEVER for kids. So while Pennywise might be back in the terrifying new IT remake, the truth is terrifying killer clowns are nothing new.

Monthly Mash-up for October, 2015 Howloween and The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Mom - My topic for this month is The Hunchback of Notre Dame. We recently had the opportunity to see The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Kelsey Theater. The show was the version of the story with music and lyrics by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz respectively which played at the Papermill Playhouse in 2015 but never made it to Broadway. The show is based on the Disney movie of the same name and includes the songs in the movie plus additional songs. Most of the songs are not that memorable, and the story is depressing. This is a much darker version of the story than in the Disney movie and is much closer to the actual Victor Hugo novel. I can see why the show never made it to Broadway. Kelsey's version of the show was wonderful, however. The acting and singing were both terrific. C.J. Carter really shined in the lead role of Quasimondo. The entire cast was really good in their roles. Not one person was miscast. The set and costumes were just perfect as well. It was one of the best shows we have ever seen at Kelsey Theater. Unfortunately, all this great theater was wasted on a show with a totally depressing story. Still, I'm glad we got the opportunity to see this well acted show before its final performance which was yesterday, October 29. 2017.
And that's our view. What's on your mind?

PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST
PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST
reimagines Shakespeare’s seafaring adventure
as an intimate heartfelt tale
PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST, written by William Shakespeare and conceived & directed by Jordan Reeves. PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST begins performances onThursday, November 2 for a limited engagement through Saturday, November 18. Press Opening isSunday, November 5 at 2 PM. The performance schedule is Thursday at 7 PM; Friday & Saturday at 8 PM; Sunday at 2 PM. There are added performances on Wednesday, November 15 at 7 PM andSaturday, November 18 at 2 PM. Performances are at The West End Theatre (263 West 86th Street, between West End Avenue and Broadway; 1 train to 86th Street). Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
The personal storms encountered during a lifetime are often even more turbulent than the raging tempests sailors experience on the high seas.
PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST is an inventive 90-minute reimagining of William Shakespeare’sPericles that places the seafaring adventure within a fresh new context: Prince Pericles’ adventures come to vivid life for a modern-day woman as she immerses herself in a book her recently deceased father gave her.
PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST retains Shakespeare’s language but pares down the sprawling tale, distilling the rarely produced romance into a heartwarming story of the rejuvenating power of family.

LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS marks Emmy winner John Leguizamo’s highly-anticipated return to Broadway, following acclaimed engagements at The Public Theater and Berkeley Repertory Theater. Directed by Tony Taccone (Wishful Drinking, Bridge & Tunnel), LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS is written and performed by Leguizamo, featuring scenic design by Rachel Hauck, lighting design by Alexander V. Nichols, and original music and sound design by Bray Poor.
In LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS John Leguizamo schools his son—and the rest of us—on the buried and forgotten history of Latinos in the Americas in this outrageously funny, satirical one-man play about uncovering the truth, and recovering from the past.
Inspired by the near total absence of Latinos in his son’s American history class, Leguizamo embarks on a frenzied search to find a Latin hero for his son’s school project. From a mad recap of the Aztec empire to stories of unknown Latin patriots of the Revolutionary War and beyond, Leguizamo breaks down the 3,000 years between the Mayans and Ricky Ricardo into 95 irreverent and uncensored minutes in his trademark style.
Performance Schedule:
