14) Chris Mann Releases Original Song 'I Do' Featured on Hit CW Series 'All American' and Streaming Platforms
Singer-songwriter Chris Mann is back with his highly anticipated original song 'I Do', marking his first release of new music in almost six years. Co-written by Mann and acclaimed writer/producer Bleu McAuley, 'I Do' is a soulful ballad that showcases Mann's heartfelt lyrics and signature vocals.
The inspiration behind 'I Do' came from Mann's own wedding vows, which he wrote long before marrying his wife of 11 years. The lyrics express Mann's vision of an ideal marriage, with lines like 'to have and to hold, for better or for worse...I do.' The song features a laid-back, gospel feel accompanied by a soaring chorus of harmonizing background vocals.
'I Do' has been a fan favorite at Chris Mann's live concerts for years, and now fans can finally enjoy it on all streaming platforms. The song will also make its debut on the hit CW series 'All American' in a critical wedding scene, airing on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Building on the 2023 Summer New Works Festival, which spotlit the work of LGBTQIA+ playwrights, Irish Rep is thrilled to continue celebrating the work of LGBTQIA+ Irish and Irish American artists with Bród Féile (Pride Fest) 2024. The festival will span two evenings, Thursday June 27 and Friday June 28 at 7pm, in the W Scott McLucas Studio Theatre at Irish Repertory Theatre (132 W 22nd Street, New York, NY 10011).
Thursday June 27 will consist of an evening of storytelling, music and dance, in collaboration with Nick Eibler of Queer to Tell and Irish dance and drag performer Héruma Hazit. Queer To Tell is a NYC-born national storytelling series that features LGBTQIA+ storytellers and takes place at Queer-owned/affirming spaces across the country.
Friday June 28 will consist of the cabaret show There Will Be Rainbows, written and performed by Stefan Fae (Stephen Quinn), accompanied by Matthew Ricketts. There Will Be Rainbows is an intimate cabaret, first performed in the atmospheric surroundings of Dublin’s Fumbally Café, about Stefan Fae’s adventures in New York City. The show features storytelling and the music of Rufus Wainwright, Coco Rosie, LCD sound system, Lou Reed and Cole Porter, alongside original compositions by Stefan Fae.

On Friday, June 28, Bridge Matter/The Reach will debut at 6:30pm along the expanse of the water's edge, one block south of the historic Little Red Lighthouse. In costumes inspired by the sunset, dancers intertwine, guide and surprise as music surrounds the audience; conjuring a performance built on echos, care and how we (and the earth) bridge divides.
On Sunday, June 30, 4pm-6pm, Kinesis Project is hosting and co-creating a Durational Installation of Care, a simple participatory art installation for anyone who would like to register. Kinesis Project invites NYers to take part in the first ever, large-scale, community installation of care along the water's edge beginning at 4pm. Everyone is welcome, no dance experience is needed. The installation is in collaboration with Movement of the People/Joya Powell and Marcela Xavier (of Bread and Yoga).
The dance performance of Bridge Matter/The Reach will grow out of the community installation around 6pm as dancers appear in colorful jackets with exquisite design.
Bridge Matter/The Reach is a dance of echos, listening and how we bridge the cracks between us. Kinesis Project has an extraordinary ability to bring spectacle and intimacy into an environment. This developing work, placed in a historic NYC location with sweeping and expansive views, is a moment to be shared with friends old and new. Audiences will be led along pathways with gorgeous dancing, sunset toned floating costumes by Rebecca Kanach incorporating bold whirlwind shapes designed by visual artist Celeste Cooning and live music by Grammy and Obie Award winning musician, Johnny Butler.
Bridge Matter/The Reach is a second collaboration with the research of geoscientist Dr. Missy Eppes and her colleagues, studying how our shifting climate is affecting even the bedrock of our earth.

From the north, enter the Park via the pedestrian bridge at 181st Street and Plaza Lafayette. Follow the path south towards the George Washington Bridge.
From the south, follow 158th Street all the way west and enter the park via the stairs or ramp. Turn right on the Hudson River Greenway and continue north towards the George Washington Bridge.

Experience an amazing lineup of diverse artists under the stars this summer at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) for exciting, FREE concerts. The series unites Newark's cultural diversity by bringing together residents, workers, and visitors for unforgettable evenings of great music, food, and fun. The weekly events run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, starting off with the annual celebratory dance party kicking off the series with WBGO-FM DJ Felix Hernandez's "Rhythm Revue Dance Party" on June 28. This performance is part of Prudential presents North to Shore Festival, New Jersey’s three-city, three-weekend celebration of arts and ideas.
This year's impressive lineup includes Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista, Afrobeat singer and artist Kofi Kinaata, New Orleans funk band Galactic f. Jelly Joseph, rap icon KRS-One, and New Orleans bounce singer Big Freedia. Some performances will also showcase a guest poet from Dodge Poetry, as well as local opening talent and NJPAC’s student performers. This event is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly anticipated summer events in the area.
Everyone is invited to Horizon Sounds of the City, NJPAC's popular FREE outdoor concert series every Thursday from June 27 to August 8, 2024 (except Thursday, July 4th). The entire community comes together for a weekly dance party with a festival atmosphere in Chambers Plaza on the NJPAC grounds.
Attendees can enjoy food and drinks from local vendors, dance to our mainstage headliners, and enjoy a vibrant social atmosphere. The Horizon Sounds of the City concerts at NJPAC's outdoor Chambers Plaza have entertained hundreds of thousands of music lovers from the greater Newark area. The series celebrates Newark's cultural diversity by bringing together those who work, live, and play in the city and beyond for memorable evenings of great music, food, and fun. By connecting the Greater Newark community to the summer's most energetic vibrant concerts, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon) and NJPAC provide an ideal opportunity to promote the city's rapidly expanding arts and entertainment district and acquaint audiences with local merchants and businesses.

Philadelphia School of Circus Arts announces 2024 Summer Circus Camp June 17 - August 23, for students looking to run off to the region's big top. PSCA’s award-winning camp is back and has options for kids ages 4 -5 (Kinder), 6 -7 (Junior), 8 – 12 (Youth) and 13 – 16 (Teen). Campers are divided into groups within each camp by age and experience level. No prior experience is needed for camp. Each session lasts one week and culminates in an immersive circus show presented to family and friends. Children will walk the wire, take to the air and juggle their creativity from 9:00am to 3:00pm at PSCA's beautiful circus campus (6452 Greene Street). Full-day (9am – 3pm) Kinder, Junior, Youth and Teen camps cost $475 for each one-week session. Extended camp (3:00pm – 5:00pm) costs an additional $25 per day (not available for Kinder). 23) PRIDE PLAYS 2024 CELEBRATION
Pride Plays, the initiative launched in 2019 and returning to New York this summer.
Under the leadership of producers Sam Gravitte and Sammy Lopez, and with the support of original founders Michael Urie, Doug Nevin and Nick Mayo, Pride Plays will return to Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place) on June 24 to present the readings of three new plays, culminating in a community gathering to celebrate the Pride Plays community and kick off future programming throughout the 2024-2025 season.

Join the South Street Seaport Museum for Pride at the Seaport Museum on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 11am–5pm. Kick off Pride Weekend with a full day of engaging community activities and Museum celebrations in honor of LGBTQIA+ Pride.
Take advantage of free General Admission to the Museum throughout the day, which will allow you to explore the exhibitions in the introduction galleries at 12 Fulton Street and two historic ships moored at Pier 16. The tall ship Wavertree will boast colorful Pride decorations and offer fun lawn games on the main deck. There will also be a tarot card reader in the crew’s quarters from 1–3pm.

Enrich your Pride celebration at the Seaport Museum by joining the LGBTQ+ sailing club Knickerbocker Sailing Association’s (KSA) annual floating Pride parade.
Two of the Museum’s National Register-listed historic vessels will join over 30 boats for the sail, which means you can join part of the parade on the 1885 schooner Pioneer or the 1930 tugboat W.O. Decker. The fleet of 30+ vessels will feature a colorful array of sails and flags, some even designed by Gilbert Baker, the creator of the first pride flag who was also a member of KSA.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces Barely Visible: Native American Theater Artists, a live townhall. Co-hosted by actor-writer Shaun Taylor Corbett (mixed-race artist of Amskapi Pikunni (Blackfeet), Scandinavian, and Black heritage and a member of the Kaa Nux Im mii Taaks (Blackfoot Crazy Dog Society); Danielle Jagelski (Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, Red Cliff Band of Ojibwe), a composer, music director and creative producer; John Scott Richardson (enrolled Haliwa-Saponi (Tutelo)/Tuscarora lineage), actor, public speaker and cultural educator; Julia Keefe (Nez Perce), internationally acclaimed actor, recording artist, educator, jazz singer and band leader for the Julia Keefe Indigenous Big Band. Co-facilitated by Nicolette Blount (enrolled Chickasaw with Seminole ancestry), writer, composer, lyricist, performer, and producer at Take My Shot Productions, and TRU executive director Bob Ost.
TRU monthly conversations continue about issues of current cultural significance, with a particular focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. This month we consider the uncomfortable irony that theater's least visible representation of the American population is Native Americans. For theater (and all of the arts) to truly reflect the human experience and represent our populations fully, it is just common sense that we need to open the doors and let First American artists have their voice and tell their stories. A step forward was made last season when Larissa FastHorse (enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Lakota Nation) saw her play The Thanksgiving Play finally make it to Broadway, although this may have been the first work of a native American to be welcomed into the commercial theater since Lynn Riggs (part Cherokee) back in the 1930's; and it is definitely the first play by an indigenous woman. And though it did not find a Broadway audience to keep it running, it is now one of the most produced plays in the United States. Fine. Now how about all the other Native artists in our country? Where in our business are they being overlooked, and where are they being welcomed? And most importantly, can they tell their stories authentically, or is there pressure for them to conform to traditional theater norms?
Doors open at 6:30pm for networking and roundtable introductions of everyone in the room – come prepared with your best 20-second summary of who you are, and what you need. The Open Forum will start at 7:00pm. Free for TRU members and not-for-profit theater companies; $15 for non-members. Queer Butoh Online will feature Juan Manuel in Test Carbon 14 filmed by Teresa Barajas Rodriguez; and from our Brick Theater Festival edition, Shuning Huang and Eilish Henderson in Garden of Ruins, Madelyn Sher and Erica Lee Schwartz in Dandelions, and Anástasis in Anima Transfiguratio.
Garden of ruin is a work-in-progress butoh duet grounded in eco-somatics and lesbian intimacy as a perceptive, eternal, glistening web. Connected to systems of rebirth, two infinite bodies build, merge, float, and dissipate as they journey to an unspoken world and return to soil.
Dandelions is a butoh dance theater duet that emerges from the body of a seed. Birthed to the lineage of an anonymous microspecies, we consider our legacy in this highly anticipated and
awkward moment of asexual transference.
Anima Transfiguratio by Anástasis: Changing shape, breath spirit gives raise to all beings. Life energy transforms throughout nature embodying animals, plants, fungi, bacteria, protozoa, minerals, elements, stars. This piece explores the transfigurations of the vital breath that engenders all life.
Carbon-14 Test by Juan Manuel Pérez Hernandez and Teresa Barajas Rodriguez is a digital piece that serves as an archive for an initial exploration of carbon as an element of inspiration for the creation of an artistic work called CHON. In this video, you can see the audiovisual record of a creative process carried out in a laboratory between two people interested in exploring, through sound, image, and dance, the different forms of carbon expression in the body and its role in the organic processes of life.
