Bring the whole family and create your own electronic music track with special guest, Pau Guillamet! Join this live jamming workshop in partnership with the Catalan Institute and learn the basics about how electronic music is created and some improvisational and creative tips along the way! Families will work collaboratively with Pau to set up a running loop and lay down a bass line, keys, extra percussion and vocals to top it all off. Have your own small instruments at home? Bring them in and add your personal sound to the mix! At the end of the workshop, listen to the final creation and dance along!

Bring the whole family and join CMA’s Teaching Artists, as we spend the summer making artwork inspired by Governors Island itself! Participants will create works that show the importance of nature and parks, and our place in between those two. We will be influenced by the works of Andy Goldsworthy, Nils-Udo, and Richard Shilling as we scavenge for what nature has to offer, collaborating with site specific installations, and showcasing interactions with the sun, trees, water, and rocks. And be prepared to exploit the creative potential of everyday trash, repurposing it away from the landfills and oceans, by making it into clever and meaningful art.
