We recently had the opportunity to attend a show at Feinstein's/54 Below in which young actors who are currently appearing or recently appeared in Broadway shows sang songs with older actors who appeared in shows when they were kids. The show was really great. The songs choices included both Broadway shows songs and pop songs and were well matched to the performers. The performers voices blended really well for the most part. The entire evening was a joyous and fun experience.
The pairs of performers who appeared at the show included:
Cristina Faicco, who appeared in Les Miserables, and Lynn Masako Cheng, who recently appeared in The King and I. They sang Let Me Be Your Star from Smash.
Jonathan Kaplan, who appeared in Falsettos in 1992, and Peyton Lusk, who appeared in Falsettos in 2016. They sang Passover from Elegies.
Kelsey Fowler, who appeared in Mary Poppins among other shows, and Jake Ryan Flynn, who recently appeared in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They sang Found/Tonight, a mashup of songs from Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton which was first sung by the original stars of those shows, Lyn Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt.
Kathryn Faughnan, who appeared in Mary Poppins, and Grace Capeless, who is currently appearing in The Lion King. They sang a mashup of How Far I'll Go from Moana and Go the Distance from Hercules.
Mitchell Sink, who appeared in Elf and Matilda, and Levi Smith, who was recently in A Bronx Tale. They sang Alone in the Universe from Suessical.
Morgan Billings Smith, who appeared in The Sound of Music among other things, and Ripley Sobo, who appeared in Matilda. They sang a mashup of Little Girls from Annie and Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
Emily Klein, who appeared in Parade, and Wyatt Cirbus, who appeared in the touring production of Finding Neverland. They sang Lost Boy by Ruth B.
Jaclyn Neidenthal, who appeared in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Gabby Gutteriez who currently appears in School of Rock. They sang Memory from Cats.
Dara Paige Bloomfield, who appeared in Ragtime, and Ellie Kim, who currently appears in School of Rock. They sang a mashup of Express Yourself and Walkaway.
Allie Trimm, who appeared in Bye Bye Birdie and Thirteen, and Cooper Lantz, who is currently appearing in Kinky Boots. They sang True Colors.
Dara Paige Bloomfield, and Delilah Rose Pellow, who currently appears in Anastasia. They sang At The Beginning from the movie Anastasia.
Samantha Pollino, who appeared in Hot Feet and is currently appearing in Head Over Heels, and Hudson Loverro, who is currently appearing in School of Rock. They sang Broadway Baby from Follies.
