I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday: Books Thrill Ride, Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating, and The Not So Perfect Plan to Save Friendship House

We may have been give one or more of the books mentioned below for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Me -Today I am recommending Thrill Ride by Rachel Hawthorne. Thrill Ride is about a girl named Megan who applies for a job at an amusement park in order to escape the drama of planning for her sister's wedding. Once she's there, she immediatlely catches the eye of Parker, an extremely attractive guy who she can't seem to get out of her mind. The only problem is she already has a boyfriend waiting for  her back home. This book is short, sweet and very romantic. Once you pick it up you won't want to put it down. While the description on the back of the book doesn't necessarily stand out, the story speaks for itself .*

Mom - Today I am recommending two romantic comedies.

The first book I am recommending today is Josh + Hazel's Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren. Josh and Hazel are complete opposites. She's a free spirit, and he's much more conventional. When they first met in college, she did not make a very good impression. First, she threw up in his shoes. Then, she sent him a crazy illiterate  e-mail while she was completely loopy due to recent surgery. Yet, somehow when the meet up again, they become best friends. They decide to find romantic partners for each other so they begin setting each other up on blind dates and going out on  double blind dates together as a foursome. However, the dates go from bad to worse, and it's possible that the perfect mates for each of them may be a lot closer than Josh and Hazel think. This book is delightfully enchanting and romantic but not at all in sappy way. Josh is such a  great caring, sweet and sensitive guy, and Hazel is just the right mix of adorably crazy and bighearted. You just can't help but love them and root for them from the first moment you start reading the book. The book is at turns hilarious and heartwarmingy touching. Reading it is like being wrapped up in a big warm hug.

The second book I am recommending today is The Perfect Plan to Save Friendship House by Lily Bartlett. This book is also a romantic comedy. Phoebe works in a retirement home for women that is populated by a gaggle of quirky but loveable ladies. She finds herself attracted to her co-worker, Nick,. Nick is the only male in the place, and the women who live there like it that way. Then, Phoebe's boss, Max decides to move his anything but loveable father in. As if that weren't bad enough Max insists they gave a job to his useless spoiled daughter, Tamsyn. To make matters even worse, Tamsyn seems to have a think for Nick, and he can't seem to resist her. Phoebe and her co-worker, and  best friend, June and the women who live in Friendship House come up with a  crazy plan to keep things from changing to much. This is a really amusing and engaging romantic comedy. It is fully of crazy lovable characters and amusing situations. If you are looking for a book that is really sweet and  hysterically funny at the same time, you will really enjoy this book.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
