I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday: Sex and the City Hotspots Tour

We were given a complimentary Sex and the City Hotspots Tour for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: On Location Tours
Sex and the City Hotspots Tour

Where: Tour meets at 764 5th Ave. & 59th Street
(in front of the Pulitzer Fountain)

Who: Recommended for Ages 17 and Up

If you're a fan of Sex and the City and/or the spinoff series, And Just Like That, you are not going to want to miss On Location Tours Sex and the City Hotspots Tour.  On this tour, you'll visit many of the locations that you remember from the series. They include Bergdorf's, the alley where Carrrie had her shoe stolen, and many more. You'll also visit real locations that stood in for fictional locations in the series.

While most of these locations will be viewed from the windows of the temperature-controlled bus you'll be traveling around in, you will have the opportunity to get off the bus a few times. Most of these times will be for photo ops like at Buddhakan and the apartment building that stood in for Carrie's front door. There is one part of the tour, however, where you will get to walk around a little bit and stretch your legs.

Other locations visited have less of a direct connection with the show like SJP shoes and an arbitrary gift shop that has no apparent connection with the show at all. To be fair, these locations come up at a part of the tour where you have some freedom to walk around, and you don't actually have to visit either of them. It's fun just to visit SJP shoes, however, just to look around and be able to say you've been there.

Your tour will also include an authentic Magnolia Bakery cupcake albeit a tiny one. You'll also have the opportunity to imbibe in a Cosmopolitan or two if you choose, but you pay for the drinks yourself although at a discounted rate.

While you can still enjoy this tour even if you are not a huge fan of Sex and the City and/or its spinoff, it probably wouldn't be as enjoyable for anyone who doesn't at least have a familiarity with the series. Leave the children at home too as the no-holds-barred discussions and reminisces about the show can get quite raunchy. It's best to leave the husbands and boyfriends at home as well unless they are also fans of the show. Ultimately, the beauty of this tour isn't actually in what you see or what you do, it's having the opportunity to stan over the show with a group of fellow devotees. Even though you can still enjoy the tour without being a huge fan of the show if you are you're really going to love it.
