I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Her, Too & Give Me a Sign

Books: Her, Too & Give Me a Sign

Today we are recommending Her, Too by Bonnie Kistler. Kelly McCann is a high-powered attorney with an extremely successful career defending men accused of rape until she herself becomes the victim of rape, and it changes her entire life. All she can think about is getting revenge, and she convinces other victims of her rapist to join in her crusade to punish their attacker. However, it seems that someone is on to them and their lives may all be in grave danger.

This is an exciting and timely thriller packed with surprising twists and turns. It is full of admirable courageous women seeking to take back their power. It reminds us how important it is to have empathy and imagine what it would be like to be in another person's shoes because life turns on a dime, and you never if and when you will suddenly be in their shoes for real.

Today we are recommending Give Me A Sign by Anna Sortino. Stuck between the deaf and the hearing world, Lilah gets a summer job at a camp for deaf and blind children where she can improve her signing skills but once she gets there she finds so much more. Not only is there a community of people she can bond with but she might just have a little summer romance as well. This book is more than just an engaging story permeated with cute romance and touching found family vibes. It also provides great insight into what it's really like to be a deaf or hard-of-hearing person in a hearing world. Thus, it is not only an entertaining read, but an extremely enlightening one as well.

This book will be published on Tuesday, June 11, 2023.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
