I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Me - & The Players was a concert by the ensemble members from the Broadway show, & Juliet. It was a lot of fun. I was very excited to see it because I love & Juliet. It's one of my favorite shows.

It was interesting to learn about the different ensemble members as individuals and not just members of an ensemble.  I liked getting to know them, and I also liked getting to hear them sing other songs than the ones in the show. I enjoyed their song choices. I especially loved when Tiernan Tunicliffe and Daniel J. Maldonado sang Hanging On for a Hero. That was really good. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

Mom - Although the ensemble of the Broadway musical, & Juliet's talents are on full display in their brilliant performances  8 times a week at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, it was nice to have an opportunity to see each of them shine in the spotlight. The evening's entertainment ranged from beautiful ballads like Maybe This Time to a playful performance of Holding Out for a Hero. The latter was one of two duets. There was even a little dancing.

The event was hosted by Melanie LaBarrie who plays Angelique (Juliet's nurse) in the show. The love she feels for her younger castmates clearly shined through as she shared brief intimate tidbits about each of them. Their love for her was quite apparent as well. It is so nice when show casts gel so much that they really get to be like family.

It was great to get to know a little more about the ensemble members of & Juliet during this lovely evening of music and fun. We can't wait to see them again in their regular gig.

And that's our view. For more about upcoming shows at 54 Below or to purchase tickets, visit 54below.org
