Los Otros marks the return of Premiere's Inner Voices series after an absence of several years that dates back to before the pandemic. The series presents solo works that feature new teams of playwrights and composers. This year's show has a book and lyrics written by Ellen Fitzhugh and was composed by Michael La Chiusa. The show is two stories in one that of a Mexican male and a white female growing up in the same area of Southern California. It is basically like two solo shows with Cesar Samoya as the Mexican male and Luba Mason as the white female alternately telling their stories mostly through song although their stories do intersect in surprising ways. While the voices and performances are good and the story is particularly timely and relevant, the show moves along rather slowly and the songs are not very memorable.
