I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Gervasi, for his debut feature, followed guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner as their roadie, capturing their story as they stumble through a harrowing European tour and reflect on failure, friendship, resilience and the will to follow even the most impossible of dreams. Interested dancers can join the class by registering here.

As a virtual dance institute, The Bridge will invite world renowned as well as up and coming dancers and choreographers to come to guest teach the class. Advanced/Intermediate level professional or pre-professional dancers who are looking to explore beyond their own boundaries and looking for new dance experiences are encouraged to participate. The core program is based on Nai-Ni Chen’s Kinetic Spiral, which is a cross-cultural dance vocabulary that integrates the Chinese martial arts philosophy in TaiChi with contemporary dance practices she studied in America. Guest artists will cover a wide range of folk and classical dance styles.

The Bridge Class schedule:

Monday, September 26, 2022 | Tina “Tino” Zoccoli-Mayers (Yoga) at 10am
Tino will focus on restorative practices to prevent and/or heal injuries for dancers and athletes. They will pair Vinyasa and Yin yoga–"Yin and Vin”-- to stretch, condition and heal the aerobic anatomical system. S/he will help students prepare, simply, wherever they practice, a psycho-somatic space and body consciousness for the gentle, extended cool-down with Yin yoga, invented by American yogis along the Pacific Ocean coast, incorporating Chinese Medicine. Please prepare if possible to bring: a yoga mat; blankets/towels; 2 yoga blocks (or: books, soup cans); a yoga strap (or: fabric belt, towel) and any other soothing or healing object.

Wednesday, September 28, 2022 | Rio (Kinetic Spiral) at 10am
Tapping into the creative energy of the universe through Kinetic Spiral. Nai-Ni Chen's signature technique is based on the principle of ever-changing universal forces of Yin and Yang to cultivate the dancer’s vital energy Chi (Qi) allowing the dancer to achieve higher performance with less effort. By focusing on breathing and images, Kinetic Spiral also balances the spiritual, mental and physical energy of the dancer. The Kinetic Spiral Technique forms the foundation of Nai-Ni Chen’s style of cross-cultural movement and embodies her efforts to work in the intersection of culture and race, advocating for equity with grace and power.

20)CARL MOELLENBERG’S STORY: BROADWAY AND SPIRITUALITY AS A PATH TO SURVIVAL

A MEMOIR FROM 13-TIME TONY AWARD ®-

WINNING PRODUCER

Tony Award-winning producer Carl Moellenberg's memoir, Broadway and Spirituality as a Path to Survival, will be released on Saturday, October 1, 2022, by Imagine and Wonder. It is now available for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles and others.

Moellenberg’s story is one of overcoming enormous obstacles and changing course to find his passion and true self to live joyously as a long-term survivor. It is a journey of many transformations: from Midwestern boy most interested in music to a fast-paced Wall Street career; from investment banking to becoming a 13-time Tony Award-winner on Broadway; from overcoming several death-defying crises by finding healing, inspiration from a higher-being and deeper spirituality. Moellenberg hopes his story will inspire others who face seemingly overwhelming obstacles to find their passion, reason to live, and to find love.

Moellenberg grew up in Ohio and then transitioned to the world of NYC financial institutions for 19 years. A combination of passion for music and serious health issues and spiritual inspiration caused him to jettison that life for producing theater on Broadway. Since that most joyful life-changing decision, he now has produced over 70 shows worldwide and won 13 Tony awards. His incredible path was accomplished despite multiple threats to his survival which were warded off by his passion for Broadway, newfound healing practices, spirituality, and love.

WHAT KIND OF WOMAN
September 23 - October 1 at Carnegie Stage, Pittsburgh
October 19 - November 19 at the cell theatre, New York

Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre and off the WALL productions in Pittsburgh present the World Premiere of WHAT KIND OF WOMAN by Abbe Tanenbaum. While working as a personal organizer in New York City, Tanenbaum and her client uncovered twenty letters from women seeking abortions in the early 1970’s. Written to the landmark Women's Health & Abortion Project in Chelsea, just blocks from the cell theatre, these pleas for assistance are the inspiration for this play.

WHAT KIND OF WOMAN is a story of empowerment and the choices we make, for better or for worse.  When aging feminist and lifetime ‘collector’, Nora gets a final opportunity to reconnect with her estranged son, she hires personal organizer and struggling actress Anne to whip her apartment into shape for his visit. But letting go of the past to make space for the present isn’t always straightforward.

The production will premiere in Pittsburgh from September 23 - October 1 at Carnegie Stage (25 W. Main Street, Carnegie, PA 15106). Tickets and info at www.insideoffthewall.com.

The New York Premiere runs October 19 - November 19 at the cell theatre (338 West 23rd Street, New York, NY 10011). Tickets and info at www.thecelltheatre.org
