I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet is the first new musical live in New York City since the pandemic, and there is definitely something to be said for that.  It is a fun musical with a lot of humor in it. It has some nice songs too.  The stirring anthem, One Hit Song, which you can find on YouTube, is particularly catchy. The show is not a great one, however. For one thing, the plot is a little thin and everything just seems to resolve itself too quickly and too easily. For another, it is hard to get attached to the characters when the writers, Ben Fankhauser and Alex Wyse, who are also 2/3 of the performers in the show, didn't even think their characters were important enough to give them names. They are just called Man 2 and Other Man. Both are quite amusing in their roles, however. Bryonha Marie Parham in the title role of Regina Comet is a powerhouse. She really commands the stage. Overall, while there is a lot to like about A  Commercial Jingle hopefully there are even better things to come for Frankhauser and Wyse as musical writers.
