I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - Burnt the Broadway Podcast

What: Burnt the Broadway Podcast

Where: The Broadway Podcast Network or anywhere you listen to podcasts

Who:  Ages 16 and Up

If you are a Broadway fan and also a true crime fan, you are definitely going to want to check out Burnt the new podcast from Blake Ross, the former long-time editor of Playbill Magazine. This guilty pleasure delves deeply into some of the most notorious scandals that have plagued Broadway over the years. The first four episodes take an extensive look into the Rebecca debacle. If you are unfamiliar with Rebecca, it was a big musical that was allegedly supposed to come to Broadway sometime around 2012 but never did for reasons that included fake investors, publicists secretly ratting out their clients, and more. If you want to know more about Rebecca including hearing from many of the people directly involved in the show, you are definitely going to want to listen to the Burnt podcast.

The other two episodes of Burnt which have been released so far cover a plethora of other Broadway-related scandals. There was the time Patti Lupone had a meltdown because an audience member was taking pictures during a performance. There was Jeremy Piven's mysterious dropping out of the revival of Speed the Plow. There was the notorious producer, Adela Holzer. This is only a  small sampling of the topics addressed in subsequent episodes.

The show is not at all appropriate for young children due to the subject matter. Some episodes are not appropriate for children at all due to particularly disturbing subject matter. However, these episodes do have a warning disclaimer. However, if you are not a child and you  are interesting in immersing yourself in the world of Broadway-related crimes and scandals, you will love Burnt.

Burnt is available on the Broadway podcast network or wherever you listen to podcasts. For more information go to https://broadwaypodcastnetwork.com/podcast/burnt-the-show-that-set-broadway-ablaze/

And that's our view. Tune in Sunday for this week's Sunday Scoop.
