I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Let's Talk About Cardboard

Me -Cardboard is so under appreciated. With cardboard boxes alone, there are so many things you can use them for. There are so many different shapes and sizes that are good for different things. For example, I am currently using a long medium height cardboard box for a nightstand. You can also use cardboard boxes to pack things up and ship them away. If you are moving, you can pack things up into a cardboard box. Also, you can use cardboard if you need to write something on it because its thicker. You  can glue cardboard onto a paper to make the paper thicker. You can also just use it as something as something to lean on when you write on paper to make it thicker and easier to write. Also, you can use a cardboard box as a toy or bed for cats. My cats like to use cardboard boxes to sit in or lay top of. They also like to scratch at it and bite. You can even put blankets in it to make it more comfortable for an animal to sit in. Once when someone in my house needed a long piece of paper, I ripped off the side of a cardboard box, and it was the perfect size for what it was needed for. It was long enough to write everything that was needed and not have it all squished onto a tiny little paper. As you can plainly, see cardboard is useful for many things, and you should really rethink the way you think about cardboard.

Mom - We used to live in a house and now we live in an apartment. We have lots of cardboard boxes around that we store things in. It is useful and at the same time annoying. It seems like we are always walking into cardboard boxes.  We also have a ton of boxes in storage filled with things we cannot fit into our apartment. You might think that we should get rid of some of these things, and maybe we should. However, it is not so easy to transition from living in a house to living in  an apartment especially when you didn't really want to, and we are not yet ready downsize our lives and our belongings anymore than we already have. Even now that we do not seem to need any more cardboard boxes, we always seem to be getting more. We are always getting packages from Amazon or things to review for the blog or other deliveries. I am always having to breakdown the boxes to put them out with the recycyling because they take up too much room, and we do not need so many of them. I hate how all the big cardboard boxes fill up the recycling bin so quickly. We used to have a bigger recycling bin when we lived in a house and had a garage. Now, we have a small one that fills up fast. I hate when things come in these big huge cardboard boxes and when you open the box up whatever it is really small. It is such a waste and just makes more cardboard to get rid of. I mean cardboard can be useful but sometimes it feels like there is just too much of it everywhere.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.

  2. I do use some cardboard boxes that can be re-used. In asia some people sell cardboard back to the government for a living.
