I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Hamilton's Harlem Tour

We were given a free Hamilton's Harlem Tour for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Hamilton's Harlem Tour

Where: Tour Starts at the Morris Jumel Mansion
            160th St. and Edgecombe Ave.
            New York, NY

Who: Teens and Up

Me - The Hamilton's Harlem  walking tour was really interesting. Contrary to the name, there was not actually a lot of walking on this tour.  We visited the Morris Jumel Mansion and the Hamilton Grange. Most of the tour was sitting and listening. We learned a lot about Hamilton and his effect on the country. At first, it was a little bit slow, but then it picked up and became very fascinating. The guide was really good. He really knew his stuff. I can't imagine just being able to talk about a topic for 4 hours. In conclusion if you are interested in Hamilton, I would really recommend this tour for you.

Mom - If you are interested in a walking tour where you can learn a lot but you will not necessarily have to do a lot of walking, you may enjoy a Hamilton's Harlem Tour. This does not mean that this is a tour for people who have trouble walking or young children, however. The tour still does involve walking including walking up and down stairs, and since the tour does involve quite a lot of listening it is not appropriate for young children. You will have the opportunity to visit two iconic locations related to Alexander Hamilton and/or his nemisis Aarron Burr on this tour, the Morris-Jumel Mansion and Hamilton Grange. Although the tour will not take you completely through these locations, you will have the opportunity to go through them if you wish. The tour will, however, give you the opportunity to learn quite a lot about Alexander Hamilton and his life and  his contributions to so many things that still affect us today. The tour guide, Jimmy Napoli is quite knowledgeable about the subject and the tour is quite informative. He also gives other Hamilton related tours including tours in New Jersey and Philadelphia. For more about the Hamilton's Harlem Tour and/or other tours given by  Hamilton's New York tours including the New Jersey or Philadelphia tours , visit https://hamiltonsnewyork.com. For more about Hamilton Grange, see our previous post Where-To-Go Wednesday - Hamilton Grange. We will be posting more about the Morris-Jumel Manison in a future post.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
