I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Saturday Special - Total Vocal 2019

              881 7th Ave.
              New York, NY

Who: All ages

When: This event occured on Sunday March 24, 2019

Me - Total Vocal is an annual a cappella Concert. This year it was back at Carnegie Hall after being  at Lincoln Center last year.  It was a really good show. It was just as good as the previous years. In previous years, they had special guests from The Pitch Perfect movies and when In Transit was on Broadway, they had guests from the show. This year the special guests were not as well known. The most famous were DCappella, a new Disney a capella Group. However, since the group is new they are not really that well known yet. One of the singers in that group was in the movie Pitch Perfect. There was a good selection of songs sung at the concert. I knew a bunch of them. The performers were all extremely talented. I really look forward to going to the Total Vocal Concert every year. It is definitely one of the highlight's of my year.

Mom - This year's annual Total Vocal, a cappella concert, was held at Carnegie Hall on March 24. As a usual it was a delightful joyous occassion for all who attended. Led by the irrepressible, Deke Sharon the concert sailed along smoothly and melodiously. In fact, the theme of this year's program was travelling on a cruise. Sharon is  an absolutely God's gift to the a cappella world, and you are not likely to find an important a cappella related event that he is not a part of. In additon to the annual Total Vocal concerts, he has also worked on all three Pitch Perfect movies; the TV series, Pitch Slapped; and the Broadway show, In Transit, among other things. In this year's concert, he even got to a sing a number himself. All of the performers were immensely talented, however. They included groups from all over the world as well as DCappella, Disney's own a cappella group that travels around giving concerts focusing on Disney songs.  Of course, Deke Sharon had a hand in putting together that group as well, and in fact, came up with the idea. Even the audience gets a chance to sing at a Total Vocal concert. The event ended with a sing-along of The Lion Sleeps Tonight as it has in previous years. If you want to experience a really fun, happy event full of song, you won't want to miss next year's Total Vocal concert which has already been scheduled for March 29, 2020 although a venue has not yet been announced.

There is not a specific web-site for Total Vocal concerts, but the concerts are part of DCINY Concerts so you might try checking their website at https://www.dciny.org/ or Deke Sharon's website at http://www.dekesharon.com perodically for updates.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for this week's Sunday Scoop.
