I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Five Animals and Why They Make Good Pets and Why They Don't

Me -  Here are five animals and why they might make good pets.

Cats- Cats can be sweet and fun and amusing. They don't have to be walked. They don't usually need as much attention as other animals like dogs.

Dogs- Dogs are really friendly and loving. They are usually affectionate on-demand unlike cats. Also, they don't climb as high as cats so you can put things out of their reach.

Bunnies- Bunnies are quiet. They don't have to be walked. They are soft and small and cute and fluffy.

Fish - Fish are also are quiet. They are easy for little kids who want a pet because they don't do much and don't require much care.

Guinea Pigs - They are small and cute. They live in a cage and don't have to be walked. They are a nice size because they are smaller than cats and dogs but bigger than hamsters and gerbils.*

*The above is a guest post by older sister, Melia.

Mom - Here are reasons why these five animals might not make good pets.

Cats - Cats are too independent. They are into everything. They can climb everywhere. It is hard to put things out of their reach. Their claws are sharp and they can scratch things up.

Dogs - Dogs sometimes bite. They have to be walked. They need a lot of attention. While, they cannot get up as high as cats, they can still get into a lot of trouble.

Bunnies - Bunnies need a lot of space. They get scared easily.  They are not always good with small children. If you let them run around your house, they can easily get lost, and you will find rabbit droppings everywhere.

Fish - Fish can be boring. They don't do much. Pretty much all they do is swim and eat. They usually don't live very long. You can't pet a fish. You can't hold it. or take it out of the water.

Guinea Pigs- They sometimes bite. They makes their cages really messy, and their cages can smell a lot if you don't clean them very often. They catch cold quite easily and when they get a cold the consequences can be fatal.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.

  1. These are all good points to consider before choosing which pets to get for our granddaughters.
