I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday- Books: Lovely Little Things & Movies: Billboard

We may have been given free samples, copies and/or access to the books, movies and other products listed below. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books - Lovely Little Things

Mom - Today I am recommending Little Lovely Things by Maureen Joyce Connolly. Claire has the perfect life. She has a loving husband. She has two adorable little girls. She is even on her on way to earning her medical degree. Then, Claire makes one bad decision which puts everything she has at risk, and Clarie's world will never be the same. This book is absolutely heartwrenching. It will grip you so intensely that you truly will not be able to put it down until you've finished every word, and even then it will stick with you. Keep tissues with you when you read it, you definitely may need them.

Movies: Billboard

Movies - Today I am recommending the movie Billboard. Billboard is the story of a beleagured radio station owner who is trying to get the radio station he inheirited from his father out of the ratings basement and out of debt so he can keep it going.  In order to promote the station, he comes up with idea of contest in which four (4)  people will live on a billboard and the person  that lasts up there the longest will win a prize. While the story is interesting, this is, by no stretch of the imagination, the feel good movie with a predictable happy ending that you might think it would be. It is actually kind of dark. However, the plot is not what makes this movie interesting.  What does makes it interesting is that  the film goes beyond the movie itself by providing entertainment not just on the movie screen but on a number of other platforms as well. In addition to the seeing the movie which focuses on the radio station owner, you can view a twenty five (25)  episode web-series, Billboard Sitters, which follows the experiences of the people chosen as contestants in the billboard sitting contest. There is even a virtual radio station,WTYT960, that has been created that mirrors the one in the movie and actually plays music, promotes artists and has even hosted live events around the country.

The movie Billboard will began a theatrical run in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles this Friday April 5. For more information, visit https://billboardmovie.com. For more about the web-series, Billboard Sitters, visit https://billboardmovie.com/billboard-sitters. For more about WTYT960, visit http://wtyt960.com.

And that's Mom's view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
