Lost and Found is an affecting play about two people stranded in a Brooklyn laundromat during one of the biggest blackouts in US history, who find that they are bound by a common tragedy. The show deals with such subjects as 9/11 and grief, which may be triggering for some people. However, these subjects are dealt with in a way that feels both sensitive and authentic as the characters cycle through a variety of emotions, including regret, anger, guilt, and the sudden onset of unbearable anguish throughout the show.
The character of Found, played by the playwright, Angelica Gorga, is particularly touching. When she arrives on the scene, insisting upon doing her laundry even though the laundromat is closing, she seems like a pushy, abrasive, annoying character. However, when you learn her backstory, it all makes sense in a particularly heartbreaking way.

Lost, played by Ivan Marcel, is dealing with his own grief, but he does so in a more stoic way. He forms a connection with Found that ultimately helps them both on a path toward healing. The third character in this three-person drama is the neighbor, played by Nelly Savinon. While not exactly comic relief, she flits in and out, providing brief respites from the otherwise dark center of the story. Although the subject matter of this show isn't easy to deal with, particularly for some people, it is ultimately a story about the healing power of human connection.
