I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Giveaway: Win a copy of Macy's The Store. The Star. The Story. in the Holiday Kickoff Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the Holiday Kickoff Giveaway Hop
hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island.

Watching Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is a beloved tradition. For many, it marks the unofficial start of the holiday season. Still, there is a lot more to Macy's than just a parade. It is a store with a history going back over 160 years. The entire history of this iconic institution has been detailed in the book, Macy's The Store. The Star. The Story. by Robert M. Grippo.

This book not only provides a timeline of the way the store developed and changed over its long history, but also provides background on beloved Macy's yearly traditions like the Thanksgiving Parade, the 4th of July Fireworks, and the Flower Show. It is full of interesting facts as well as plenty of pictures and more. All in all, it's quite fascinating.  For more about this book, see our previous post Tips for Tuesday - Books: Macy's The Store. The Star. The Story. Enter below to win a copy:

  1. I love the whole thing! From the "Let's Have a Parade!" as they cut the ribbon to seeing Santa Claus! I love the bands (and seeing what part of the country they're from) and the beautiful floats (with the stars that I know or have heard of) and the amazing balloons! I have only ever seen it on TV, so what I like the least is when the CBS or NBC hosts are just talking among themselves or with the stars of current shows instead of showing the actual parade!
