Me - Purefinder's Psychiatric History of New York Tour was interesting. It was very unique. I learned a lot. There were some things they talked about that were related to movies including One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Even though I hadn't actually seen any of the movies mentioned, I found it all fascinating. It made me a little more interested in some of those movies. I am intrigued by where they get the ideas for movies. Some of my favorite shows have done episodes based on movies so that's really interesting to me.
The tour guide was really nice. She had a really nice accent too. We didn't really get to talk to her a lot though because it was a large group, and we had to rush off after because we were going to see a show that night. I would love to tour with her again. All of her tours are very unique they are not like any others that I know of.
Mom - If you are looking for an extremely unique tour of New York City, you might want to try Purefinder's Psychiatric History of New York Tour. On this tour, you will not only learn about the history of psychiatry and the treatment and care of the mentally ill throughout the history of New York City but a whole lot more as well. Learn the real stories behind the books and/or movies Sybil, The Three Faces of Eve, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and more. Learn about Dr. Feelgood, the notorious doctor known for administering highly addictive drug-laced vitamin shots to celebrities. Learn about the Sacklers and how their drug empire began and led to our current opium crisis. This is only a small sampling of the fascinating stories you will hear on this completely engrossing tour. There is definitely not another tour like it.
