Guns. Guns. Anti. Pro. Life. Death. Chaos. Control.
As the conversation about gun violence rises and falls between news cycles, the victims of the victims are left to hold it all together. This is a story about grief, and the internal struggle that gets overshadowed by the larger public debate. How does one hold on and move on at the same time? One year after her son’s murder, Debra Clayborne is invited to finish something her son Nathan started. For Debra and those closest to her, the invitation stirs up a world of hurt, and with just a week to decide what’s best, she is at the mercy of time, and the only way out is through.

Yes: Classic Tales of Yes
Saturday, September 30, 8:00 PM
Formed in 1968 by Jon Anderson and the late, and much-missed, Chris Squire, YES have been one of the most innovative, influential and best-loved bands in rock music history. Their 1970s albums The Yes Album, Fragile, Close To The Edge, Yessongs (a triple live album set), Tales From Topographic Oceans, Relayer, and Going For The One were ground-breaking in musical style and content. Their music also became synonymous with artist Roger Dean whose distinctive YES logo design and artwork adorned the lavish gatefold presentation sleeves of many YES albums.
The YES lineup includes Steve Howe (guitars, backing vocals), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Jon Davison (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Billy Sherwood (guitar, backing vocals), and Jay Schellen (drums and percussion).
Ben Folds
Sunday, October 1, 7:30 PM
with special guest Lindsey Kraft
Folds’ masterful new collection, What Matters Most, isn’t so much a statement as it is an offering, an open hand reaching out to all those wounded and bewildered by a world that seems to make less and less sense every day. Recorded in East Nashville with co-producer Joe Pisapia, the album marks Folds’ first new studio release in eight years, and it’s a bold, timely, cinematic work, one that examines the tragic and the absurd in equal measure as it reckons with hope and despair, gratitude and loss, identity, and perspective. The songs are bittersweet here, hilarious at times, but often laced with a quiet sense of longing and dread: a text message goes unanswered; an old classmate descends into the dark depths of internet conspiracies; a relationship unravels in the middle of a lake. And yet, taken as a whole, the result is an undeniably joyful record that refuses to succumb to the weight of the world around it, an ecstatic reminder of all the beauty and promise hiding in plain sight for anyone willing (and present enough) to recognize their moments as they arrive.

Ahead of its spring 2024 premiere at NYU Skirball Center, go behind the scenes of The Absolute Future with Raja Feather Kelly and the artists from the feath3r theory in an evening blending discussion and performance highlights. Found material from literature, psychology, science, social media, and personal stories about death, fear, and loneliness come together in this new work, creating a theatrical multiverse where these taboo topics can be exploited, examined, and entertained. In the style of a mock documentary, The Absolute Future intersects astrology, astronomy, and pop-culture phenomena with dance and theatre to better understand how to come together in a world that might be literally falling apart.
