I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Underground Donut Tour: Times Square

We were given complimentary tickets to Underground Donut Tours Times Square Tour for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Underground Donut Tours: Times Square Tour

Where: Tours meets at Carnegie Hall
            881 7th Ave.
            New York, NY

 Who: All ages

Me - Underground Donut Tour's Times Square Donut Tour was fun. I am not the biggest fan of donuts in general, but I actually didn't mind most of the ones we had on the tour. My favorites were the mini donuts from Prickly Pear. They had a good flavor but it was not too overpowering of a flavor. I did not like the actual pears on  the donuts, however, because I don't really like pears. My least favorite was the donut from Krispy Kreme. Even though a lot of people love them, it was a little too sweet for me.

In addition to learning about the different donuts and the restaurants visited, we also learned about the history of the midtown area including some specific buildings, like the Brill Building, on the tour. It was interesting even though some of the information I already knew I learned a lot too. I am always learning new things on tours. That's one of the things I love about them.

I also found out about a lot of new places to go. Even though I have been in the Times Square area quite often, I never really noticed any of the places where we had tastings before except for Krispy Kreme. That only goes to show that you can be in an area all the time, and there are still so many things and places you don't notice especially in a City as big as New York. That's what makes tours like this so informative and fun, and if you get to eat too that makes it even better.

Mom - Underground Donut Tour's Times Square Donut Tour will stimulate both your mind and your taste buds. You will get to try a variety of different donuts as you walk around and learn about New York City history.

Stops on the tour include a donut shop in Nordstrom's department store, a bar across from Studio 54 with walls covered with photos from its old disco days, and a fancy bakery. You will get to try a variety of different donuts as well including Mochi donuts, which are kind of like marshmallow donuts, and bombolones, which are filled with sweet filling.

Even if you are a picky eater, you can still find plenty to eat on this tour. There are plenty of options to choose from at each venue. You'll want to come to this tour with a hearty appetite, and you definitely won't go away hungry.
