Jerry Herman is one of the most beloved composers
in theater history. He is responsible for composing
the scores for such shows as Hello Dolly
and La Cage Aux Folles both of which won Tonys for
Best Musical as well as Tonys for Herman for his brilliant score. His other shows have included Milk and
Honey, Mame, Mack and Mable among others. His incredible legacy of songs includes the title numbers from
Hello Dolly and Mame, I Am What I Am, I Won't Send
Roses, and so many more.
Now, his legacy is being shared with a new
generation as ASCAP and Spot-On Entertainment
proudly present Jerry Herman: The
Broadway Legacy Concert. The show will occur
on Friday March 31, 2023 at 7:30 PM at NJPAC
located at 1 Center Street, Newark, NJ, a venue that is only blocks away from the Newark train station thus making it easily accessible by public transportation from anywhere in New New Jersey, New York and/or from various other points.]
The show will
feature a cast of New York’s top Broadway and
concert vocalists who will celebrate the songs and
the stories of this giant of musical theater. It
will feature:
Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins’ Broadway)
Tony Award nominee Ron Raines (Follies)
Klea Blackhurst (Everything The Traffic Will Allow)
MAC Award winner Scott Coulter
Jason Graae (A Grand Night for Singing)
Musical Director John Boswell
Broadway Legend Ken Page (Ain’t Misbehavin’, Cats and the voice for Oogie Boogie
in The Nightmare Before Christmas franchise)
