I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Vet at Noah's Ark & Misc.: Just Pure Foods Tomato Chips

We may have been given complimentary copies and/or access for review purposes to any products, and/or visual or audio media mentioned below. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: The Vet at Noah's Ark

Today we are recommending The Vet at Noah's Ark by Dr. Doug Mader. This is the incredibly fascinating true story of an inner city veterinarian who not only had to contend with the animals in his care and the personal and professional wellbeing of his human staff but also with the dangers and civil unrest in the city around him including fires, gang violence and even the riots caused by the aftermath of the Rodney King verdict.

If you are an animal lover, this book will definitely stir up all your emotions. It will make you smile,  and it will make you cry in equal measure. At times, tt will fill you with anger. At times, it will touch your heart, and fill you with happiness. At times, it willeven make you laugh.

If you are particularly sensitive, there definitely will be sections of this book that will trigger you, and  we highly recommend that you skip the bottom of page 216 through page 219 although there will probably be other parts of the book that will be triggering as well that section is definitely the worst of it. All in all, however, this is a quite captivating book full of  extremely vivid depicitions of wide array of unique characters of both the human and animal variety that is definitely worth reading.
