Although the name of this show or lack thereof may not make sense at first, once you see the show it becomes perfectly clear. This is a show about how to separate the legend from the truth. How do we determine exactly what the truth is especially when dealing with a person who has obtained a kind of mythical status like Calamity Jane? While it is true that not everything we read or hear about a person is accurate, and it is important to remember, trying to impart that message through a play doesn't work well or at least not the way it is done in this show.
The show just kind of goes around in circles insulating that things happened and then that maybe they didn't. All that back and forth and around and around just gives the audience whiplash and leaves them not knowing what to believe. Although that may have been the point, it doesn't really make for much of a pleasant theatrical experience. It is one thing to make the audience think, but quite another to confuse them and have them not knowing what to think.
The acting in the show led by Maera Jasmin Daniel Hagage and Ayesha Saleh who play older and younger versions of Jane respectively do a fine job with what they are given. The set and costumes are nice. However, on the whole, the show is a headscratcher.
