I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

A Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder is a musical comedy about a man named Monty Navarro,  who finds out he is eighth in line to the earldom of Highurst and begins killing off his successors. The show won a Tony as Best Musical in 2014. The show's central conceit is that all the family members except Monty are played by the same actor.  Jefferson Mays won several awards for taking on the multitude of roles on Broadway.

Although Michael Schiumo is obviously no Jefferson May (May has also won a Tony for his role in I Am My Own Wife and has taken on a one-man version of A Christmas Carol among other things), he does a nice job in the variety of roles. Andrew Timmes is also good in the part of the conniving Monty Navarro. The rest of the cast is satisfactory (some are better than others.)

The voices are nice, especially that of Sally Bethmann who plays Phoebe D'Ysquith and has a particularly pretty voice. None of the songs are all that memorable, however. The show is irreverent and fun especially if you like your musicals dark, but if not you are probably going to want to skip it.

And that's our view. For more about A Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder or to purchase tickets, visit kelsey.mccc.edu/shows_current.shtml.
