The Swiss Institute is a small contemporary art museum located in the East Village section of New York City. It hosts a series of changing exhibitions focusing on experimental and innovative art and also offers on-site programming including films and book launches. There is also a small roof garden available at the museum with a seating area that provides a nice place to relax and take in the lovely view of the surrounding area for a while.
Current exhibits at the museum consist of Afatiah's Day in the Life and an exhibition of Ser Serpas' swork. Day in the Life is a CGI animated film depicting a day in the life of a grown-up baby. Ser Serpas's work includes paintings of various body parts often covered by splatters of paint, pictures of her freestanding sculptures made from found objects, and pages from her journals containing her observations, sketches, and more.
Both of these exhibits will run through April 23.
There is no charge for visiting The Swiss Institute for more information, go to www.swissinstitute.net
