As we wait for Broadway to reopen with the shows now scheduled to reopen as early as September 2, this is the fourth post in our series, Great Reasons to See ... focusing on different shows returning to Broadway or coming to Broadway soon.
Here are some great reasons to see Dear Evan Hansen!
1) It's completely original and not based on a play, movie, book or other source material something that is increasingly rare in the theater today.
2) Its emphasis on social media and its role in current society is extremely timely.
2) It has a Tony and Grammy-winning score filled with beautiful memorable meaningful songs.
3) It is the winner of five (5) other Tony Awards in addition to numerous awards for its original run in Washington DC as well as for its Off-Broadway run.
4) It's a nice intimate musical with a cast of only eight (8).
5) It's a great show for teens or to see with your teens.
6) It's an important conversation starter.
And that's our view. Dear Evan Hansen returns to Broadway on December 11, 2021. For our original review of this show go to Theater Thursday: Dear Evan Hansen. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit dearevanhansen.com/broadway.
