I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - Maria Caruso's Rearview Mirror

We were given complimentary tickets to Maria Caruso's Rearview Mirror for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed are our own.

What: Maria Caruso's Rearview Mirror

Where: The Theater Center
             210 W. 50th St.
             New York, NY

Who: Tweens and Up

When: Through July 31, 2021

If you grew up with MTV or you just love 80s music, you will enjoy Maria Caruso's Rearview Mirror. This nostalgic dance show recreates the iconic dances from a bevy of popular 1980's videos. Songs include Simply Irresistible, Physical, and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun as well as ballads like True and many more. With the small size of the theater and its stage at floor level, it's almost like stepping into your TV and being a part of the dance as you can feel every vibration from their every move. For some, this might be too much, but if you really like to feel like your a part of the show you will love it.

We would not recommend the show for young children. Although they would probably enjoy the loud mostly upbeat music, the approximately 90-minute running time although relatively short for an adult or older child, is probably too long for them to sit through a dance show. It is also not a good show for anyone who is particularly sensitive to noise. Older children (as well as adults) who are dance aficionados would particularly appreciate this show, however.

And that's our view. Tune in Sunday for this week's Sunday Scoop.
