I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Summer Movies: 30 Sun-Drenched Classics & Misc.: Flat Socks

We may have been given complimentary copies for review purposes of any books and/or other products mentioned below. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: Summer Movies: 30 Sun-Drenched Classics

Today we are recommending Summer Movies: 30 Sun-Drenched Classics by John Malahy. This book is not about movies that came out in the summer but rather about movies that take place during the summer.  It provides a detailed look at 30 classic summer movies. The movies discussed cover a wide variety of genres including musicals, comedies, dramas, summer-related blockbusters, and even a docudrama or two and more. The earliest film mentioned in the book came out as early as 1928. The most recent was released in 2017. The book also includes such extras as vacation ideas based on where the movie was filmed and/or where the movie takes place as well as related movies which would pair well with the movie being discussed if you want to watch a double feature of similar movies.  If you are looking for the perfect movie for the summer season, you don't need to look any further than this book.

Misc.: Flat Socks

Today we are recommending Flat Socks. If you like the look of not wearing socks but you don't like the comfort of it, and you find traditional no-show socks lacking, flat socks are the perfect solution. They take the idea of no-show socks and make it even better. These flat inserts that fit into your shoe not only boost your style, but they make wearing your shoes softer and more comfortable. Unlike traditional no-show socks, which despite the name often do show at least a little bit, these socks actually don't show. They are also more comfortable because unlike traditional socks they are padded, and they are fitted right to you. When you get them you cut them down to the size you need using either the insert from your shoe or the size guide located on the back of each sock. Although you do feel a little slipping around with these socks as you walk,  they do not slip around nearly as much as regular no-show socks. Also, the more accurately you size them, the less slipping around you feel. Far too often being comfortable requires settling for a little bit less fashionwise or vice versa. With flat socks, you can have both.

Flat socks are available at Target for about $10.00.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
