I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday- Von Thun's Farm Fall Harvest Days

What: Von Thun's Farm

Where: 519 Ridge Road
            Monmouth Junction, New Jersey

Who: All ages

Our view: Von Thun's Farm is a fun place to go at any time of year, but during the fall that is especially true. They have a lot of familiar fall activities, such as, a hayride and a corn maize. They also have some not so familiar but equally as fun activities, such as, Pumpkin Checkers using actual food and  Barn Raising where you build a pretend log cabin out of giant Lincoln Logs. There are traditional farm activities like visiting the farm animals. There are not so traditional farm activities like go carts and miniature golf. There is definitely something fun for everyone. If you go, and you want to experience everything, go early and expect to spend the whole day. Bring plenty of money for food and drink while you are at the farm and for pumpkins and other fresh food you may want to bring home from the farm, such as, apples and jellies. There are also some activities like pony rides, face painting and pumpkin blaster which cost extra and that you will need money for if you plan to participate in. Fall Harvest days are every Saturday and Sunday from September 21 through October 27 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekdays just the corn maize is open from 1:00 to 5:00. There is a moonlight corn maize October 25 and 26 from 6 to 10. The corn maize in the dark might be a bit  too much for the little ones although the hours are a little late for them anyway. Admission  to Fall Harvest Days is $10.95 a person. Children 36" and under are free. Seasons passes are available for $24.95 a person. Bounceback passes which allow you to visit the farm later in the season for a discounted rate are available for $5.95 as you leave. The annual fall festival is Saturday and Sunday October 12-13 from 10:00 to 5:00. Admission is $13.95 per person. The Fall Festival includes all the Fall Harvest activities as well as live entertainment including clowns, singers, puppet shows, and magic shows.  Scooby Doo will be the special guest at this year's Fall Festival. All in all, whether you go for the Fall Festival or just for the Fall Harvest Days, if you are looking for something fun to do in the fall, Von Thun's Farm is a great choice.

And that's our view. For more about Von Thun's Farm tune in to tomorrow's Talking Topic.
