The Whole of Time is a play loosely based on the classic Tennessee Williams play The Glass Menagerie. An Argentinian play originally written in Portuguese, the show has been translated into English for the current production. Like the earlier show, this one revolves around a family consisting of a strong-willed mother, a fragile homebody daughter with some kind of disability that's never really explained, and a son who wants to break free from his family obligations and go out into the world.
In this version, the daughter is obsessed with music and the internet rather than a set of little glass animals. Thus, the show includes some stirring Spanish music and an amusing opening dance number. There is also a little more incest or suggestion of incest than most people are comfortable with, although, of course, to be fair, any incest is too much for most people, as it should be. The ending of the play is more ambiguous than that of The Glass Menagerie, which may be bothersome to people who prefer their shows with more definite closure.
