I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - Pen Pals

Pen Pals is the deeply touching story of a friendship of over 50 years between two women who live on opposite sides of the world and have never met. Yet, when paired up in a high school pen pal exchange, they form such a strong bond that they continue to correspond long after both have graduated living through births, deaths, and everything that life throws at them vicariously together.


The show currently stars Nancy McKeon and Joanna Day. If you only know, McKeon from her teenage sitcom days, she is a revelation here. Her days as Jo on The Facts of Life only hinted at the depths of her acting ability. Joanna Day's performance is equally strong. Plus the pair's immense chemistry further enhances the emotional impact and really draws the audience into the play. It is just a really heartfelt and beautiful show.


McKeon and Day will be in the show through December 22, and later they will return for the end of the run from February 5 through February 9. Their roles will played in the interim by a rotating list of equally impressive stars including Kate Burton, Sharon Lawrence, and Mary Beth Peil.
