I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Gene & Gilda is the story of the relationship between Gene Wilder & Gilda Radner. Wilder was an actor, comedian, writer, and filmmaker best known for movies like Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Radner was an actress-comedian best known for her five-year stint as part of the original cast of Saturday Night Live. The pair met on the set of Hanky Panky in 1982, were married in 1984, and were together until Radner's death from Ovarian cancer in 1989.

The couple's essence is brilliantly captured in this show thanks to the exquisite performances of its two-member cast. Jonathan Randell Silver, who with his stage wig on from some angles really seems to resemble Wilder, excels in showing the neurotic insecure side of the late multi-hyphenate. Jordan doesn't so much play Radner as inhabit her. Her several-minute monologue where she flits in and out of several of Radner's best-known characters including Baba WaWa, Judy Miller, and Lisa Loopner is a show stopper.

Although the show is not a musical, Burnett does have the opportunity to show off her lovely pipes by singing Radner's Honey (Touch Me With My Clothes On). Additionally, several beautifully choreographed dance sequences really establish the zany but sweet core of the pair in an even deeper way than dialogue alone would.

Unfortunately, there is only a limited time remaining to see this wonderful show, but it is definitely worth seeing.
