Once Upon a Mattress is a delightful spin on the story of the Princess and the Pea. No less than Carol Burnett starred in the original production both on and off Broadway as well as in two subsequent television productions of the show. Although that may seem like a tough act to follow, it is no problem for the extremely talented in her own right, Sutton Foster, who puts her own goofily endearing spin on the role of Princess Winifred. Her co-stars are equally as enjoyable to watch. Of special mention is David Patrick Kelly, in the role of King Septimus, who manages to be hilarious even though he barely has any dialogue and Harriet Sansom Harris, in the role of Queen Aggravain, who as usual really knows how to sink her teeth into a deliciously devious role. The show is extremely engaging, charming, and funny. You won't want to miss it!
