I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

A new stage version of the classic book, The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne is now playing at Two River Theater in Red  Bank, NJ. Even though the book was originally written in 1850, its story which revolves around a woman who doesn't want to conform to what society expects of her is surprisingly relevant and timely in the present time when women are once again being forced to fight for their basic human right to determine their own destiny. The cast is ably led by Amanda Pedlow who makes a steadfast and determined, Hester Prynne. Another standout is Kevin Isola in the role of the perfectly named Chillingworth. Even though he is not outwardly evil, he always seems like he is up to something nefarious. Yet somehow, he has a touching connection with young Pearl who is played by a kind of otherwordly puppet that is brilliantly handled and voiced by puppeteer, Nikki Calonge. The rest of the performances are equally good. On the whole, the show is a worthy addition to the canon of shows by playwright, Kate Hamill which also includes stage adaptions of more beloved book classics like Pride and Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, and Litte Women.
