I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Books: Why Does Coffee Make You Poop & How to Promote Your Book

Today we are recommending Why Does Coffee Making Your Poop? by Andrew Thompson. This intriguing book provides answers to commonly asked questions and gets to the truth of widely held beliefs.  If you want to know things like why spicy foods make your eyes and nose water or why roosters crow or if you want to find out whether not cockroaches could actually survive a nuclear bomb or if full moons really do affect human behavior, you are definitely going to want to read this book.  There are so many other interesting things you can learn by reading this book as well. If you have a question you have always wondered about chances are you can find the answer here. It's a fun, fascinating book with short sections that make it quick and easy to read as well.

Today we are recommending How to Promote Your Book by Dr. Jan Yager. If you are self-publishing a book, you are definitely going to want this comprehensive compendium. It explains everything you need to know about how to go about publicizing your book. It covers promotion basics as well as what you should do before publication and what you should do after publication. It includes information on how to set up a timeline, how to design a press kit, how to contact potential reviewers and so much more. It's extensive index includes important additional information as well including email management programs, lists of book fairs in the U.S. and around the world, online sites where you can sell your books, and so much more. If you are publishing a book you are definitely going to want to have this valuable resource at your fingertips.

Today we are talking about Fioretta. This film is a documentary that covers lawyer and genealogist, Randy Schoenberg and his son, Joey's journey to Vienna, Prague, and Venice to trace their family history back 500 years. While the film is fascinating especially if you are interested in history, particularly Jewish history and/or genealogy, it is a little long and if you are not into these things you will probably find it tedious.

Fioretta is currently in limited release in California and will be available digitally shortly.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
