Believe it or not, Jerusalem Syndrome is an actual psychological illness in which a person visiting Israel is so overwhelmed that they suffer a mental breakdown and begin to think that they are a person from the bible. This unusual affliction provides the basic premise for an amusing new musical now being presented by the York Theatre Company at Theatre at St. Jean's. A business magnate with daddy issues who thinks he's Jesus, a bumbling tour guide who thinks he's Noah, and at least two women who think they are the Virgin Mary are only a few of the quirky characters inhabiting the crazy world of this charming musical. The script is quite funny, the performances are wonderfully hilarious, the dancing is lively, and the songs are fun. You won't want to miss it!
