I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Still More Theater Saturday - The Yeoman of the Guard

We received complimentary tickets to The Yeoman of the Guard for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: The Yeoman of the Guard

Where: Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College
             119 E. 68th St.
             New York, NY

When: This event occurred on October 25 and October 26, 2025

Last month, New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players presented a production of The Yeomen of the Guard. Despite some soap operish twists, this show, which revolves around a falsely accused prisoner and the two women who loved him, is a delight. Outlandish twists and turns are actually a hallmark of Gilbert & Sullivan productions and a big part of what makes them so engagingly fun.

This production of The Yeoman of the Guard was another rousing success for the beloved New York Gilbert & Sullivan troop. The performances were terrific. The voices were lovely. The costumes were beautiful and colorful. The set was magnificent. The show was just a jubilant pleasure all around.

And that's our view. The New York & Gilbert & Sullivan Players' next show will be H.M.S. Pinafore, which will be presented at the same location from January 10, 2026, through January 18, 2026.  That will be followed by Utopia Limited in the Spring. Tune in tomorrow for this week's Sunday Scoop..
