I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Impact: The End of the Age of Dinosaurs

We received complimentary tickets to Impact: The End of the Age of Dinosaurs for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Impact: The End of the Age of Dinosaurs

Where: American Museum of Natural History
             200 Central Park W.
             New York, NY

Who: All ages

The newest exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History, "Impact: The End of the Ages of Dinosaurs," highlights the aftermath of an asteroid strike sixty-six million years ago and how life on Earth changed forever. Although some dinosaur-like birds still remained, for the most part, the age of the dinosaurs was over.

The exhibit explains such things as how the asteroid strike occurred and details what is being done to try to prevent a similar occurrence. It presents an overview of life on Earth during the period and the animal species that inhabited it. Among other things, it also covers other similar mass extinction events.

The exhibits engage three of your five senses, all except smell and taste.  See full-scale models of extinct dinosaurs, including the Paraceratherium, one of the largest animals that has ever lived on land. Touch a Mossaur tooth and Triceratops skin and more. Listen to the sounds of croaking frogs, honking birds, and more. Other interactive aspects of the exhibit include a video game that simulates the use of various methods to keep asteroids from striking the Earth, videos that demonstrate methods currently in use to try to prevent different animal species from becoming extinct, and more. Plus, there is so much more to see, do, and experience at this fascinating exhibit.

And that's our view. Please note that this exhibit requires a specific paid entry ticket in addition to the general museum entry ticket.
