I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

5) Future Came and Went -
An Epilogue after Anton Chekov's Three Sisters

Moscow, 1910. The Prozorov sisters have finally arrived in the city of their dreams — only to realize the future may have passed them by. Love may be forged. Revolution corrupts idealism. Sisterhood becomes both salvation and imprisonment. This is a haunting, darkly comic meditation on how we survive the future when it fails to deliver. What happens after hope leaves, but life goes on?

6) Marjorie Prime

What would you say to someone you lost, if you could see them again? What if they’re a better listener now than when they were alive? Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison reinvents the family drama in his richly spare, wryly funny, and powerful MARJORIE PRIME, directed by Tony Award® nominee Anne Kauffman (Mary Jane). A heart-achingly beautiful rumination on aging and artificial intelligence, memory and mortality, love and legacy, MARJORIE PRIME examines the blurred line between a life lived and a life remembered.

Diving unflinchingly into the ‘melting pot’ that is New York City, the play explores the slipperiness of truth and justice; the thorniness of honor and redemption, and the sensation of being a crab at the bottom of the barrel.

17) Brooklyn Children’s Museum Brings Roller Skating Back to the Borough

Empire Skate of Mind Opens November 15,

Reviving Brooklyn’s Roller Disco Legacy

Brooklyn Children’s Museum (BCM) brings roller skating back to Brooklyn this Saturday with Empire Skate of Mind, a roller rink opening November 15 on the Museum’s rooftop terrace. Set to disco beats and fresh air, the new rink invites families to lace up and roll together. Empire Skate of Mind offers families an all-ages experience where parents skate alongside their kids, not from the sidelines.

The rink accommodates all skill levels, from first-timers learning to balance to experienced skaters gliding to disco music. BCM provides all skating equipment, including rental skates, helmets, and wrist guards. Skating tickets include full Museum access when families are ready to explore the rest of the Museum.

The rink pays homage to the legendary Empire Roller Rink, which stood less than a mile away at 200 Empire Boulevard from the 1940s through 2007. Empire was the birthplace of roller disco in New York – a place where Brooklyn came together to skate, alongside celebrities like Cher, Prince, and Elton John. BCM’s Empire Skate of Mind revives that community spirit with a fresh spin for today’s families.

Empire Skate of Mind runs November 15, 2025 through April 12, 2026, with sessions on weekdays from 2–5 pm and weekends from 10 am–5 pm. Skating tickets are $10 per person with rental skates ($8 for members), or $8 per person with your own skates ($6 for members). Museum admission is $15 per person and free for BCM members and children under one. The rink is open to ages 3 and up.

Birthday party packages are also available for families looking to celebrate on wheels. For information, visit www.brooklynkids.org/birthdays.

26) PHILADELPHIA ZOO'S HOLIDAY LIGHT SHOW LUMINATURE SET TO REACH NEW HEIGHTS WITH DEBUT OF 110 FOOT TALL FERRIS WHEEL, NEW SANTA'S LODGE, NEW HOLIDAY ZOO KEY ACTIVATION AND ONE MILLION+ HOLIDAY LIGHTS

New Philly Zoo Pherris Wheel will debut at LumiNature and remain at Zoo through Philadelphia and America 250 Celebrations and all the 2026 Events

Philadelphia Zoo’s nature-inspired holiday light show, LumiNature presented by PNC, is back and brighter than ever, reaching new heights with the grand opening of the Philly Zoo Pherris Wheel, a 110 ft. tall observation wheel with breathtaking scenes of the more than a million twinkling lights that will fill the Zoo and jaw-dropping sights of the city skyline. New for this year, and joining the more than a dozen whimsical wildlife scenes come to light, are Santa’s Lodge, a cozy indoor space with the chance to say hello to the big man himself, and Jambi’s Solstice Saloon, the perfect spot to chill along the beaming river. Favorite returning illuminated displays include the high-energy Penguin Prismatic show with a 40 ft. tall penguin shining with 40,000 lights and the famous 25 ft. tall pink flamingo tree, made entirely out of 1,500 lawn ornament flamingos. Plus, bring your old Zoo Key, or purchase a new one at the Zoo’s gift shops, to turn on the magic in select areas. LumiNature opens Thursday, November 20 and is open most nights through Saturday, January 3 from 5:00-9:00pm. Tickets are available on the Zoo’s website with prices varying by visit; best prices are available the earlier tickets are purchased. The Zoo’s ticket calendar will show all operating nights.

The Philly Zoo Pherris Wheel is a thrilling addition to the Zoo for the holiday season and debuts just in time for Philadelphia and America 250 celebrations and in time for all the major things coming to Philadelphia in 2026. This observation wheel takes guests more than 100 ft. in the air to soak in the sights of the Zoo, city skyline, Schuylkill River, Philadelphia Art Museum, Boat House Row and beyond. This is the first time in the Zoo’s 150+ year history that the Zoo has had a Ferris wheel on its campus. Guests must be at least at least 32" tall to ride with a supervising adult. Each gondola can fit up to six guests and the ride lasts about seven minutes. Tickets prices vary by visit date and Zoo members get a discount. Tickets can be purchased in advance or onsite. The Philly Pherris Wheel is located just past the Zoo’s Main Entrance and is open during both LumiNature nighttime hours and Zoo daytime hours.
