I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

3) Dandelion

ZviDance presents DANDELION.DANDELION is a continuation and deepening of choreographer Zvi Gotheiner’s thematic exploration of the collisions between humanity and nature. A collaboration among Gotheiner, composer Scott Killian, lighting designer Mark London, and six dancers– Chelsea Ainsworth, Colin Heininger, Mizuho Kappa, Erin Maher, Tessa Russ, Joe Tennis–the piece explores society’s senseless perception of normalcy and beauty, and the repercussions of the impulse to eradicate ‘imperfections.’

4) Quadrophenia, A Rock Ballet

In 1973, guitar smashing rock genius Pete Townshend wrote Quadrophenia. Recorded by The Who, it quickly became an iconic and multi-million selling album. Quadrophenia defined a generation and in 1979 inspired the cult classic feature film of the same name. Now it’s back – this time as an explosive dance production – with a large cast of exceptional dancers, introducing new audiences to troubled mod Jimmy’s story while remaining true in spirit to the much-loved original.

5) This Purple F*king Pot

How do you sell something that means absolutely nothing? This Purple F**king Pot, a site-specific, pop-up office comedy, dives headfirst into that question — and the capitalist chaos that follows. It transforms a real Midtown office into the war room of four brand strategists tasked with marketing a completely nondescript purple cooking pot.

What begins as a simple branding exercise spirals into an existential crisis as Alison, Bobby, Del, and GeGe debate whether the pot should stand for political healing, bisexual pride, or Martha Stewart’s next merch drop. The clock is ticking, the coffee’s burnt, and the office printer has achieved sentience.

This site-specific production will occur at an undisclosed Midtown Office Space.

6) Today is a Good Day, New York New York

Malina, a modern-day Blanche DuBois—romantic, delicate, and desperate to keep her fantasy alive—wakes up in a stranger’s apartment. Unable to recall the events of the previous night, she begins piecing together what happened. Has she finally met her prince charming, or is it time to trade in her tiara for the truth?

Raw, witty, and unflinchingly honest, Today Is a Good Day, New York New York is a one-woman show about love, loneliness, and survival in the city that never sleeps. Through humor, heartbreak, and revelation, it explores what it really means to be seen—and to finally see yourself.

7) The Snow Queen

In The Snow Queen, siblings Gerda (Bi Jean Ngo) and Kay (Brandon J. Pierce) live peacefully with their grandmother (Melanye Finister) until the greedy Councilor of Commerce (Ross Beschler) and his ally, the Snow Queen (Sarah Gliko), freeze Kay’s heart and spirit him away to a realm of cold logic. To save him, Gerda ventures from her warm attic home through bustling cities, flower-filled meadows, shadowy forests, and the frozen tundra to the Snow Queen’s glittering palace. Along the way, she’s aided by talking crows, kind strangers, a loyal reindeer, and a fierce Bandit Queen and her daughter, discovering that courage and compassion are her greatest powers. The Snow Queen proves that warmth, friendship, and humanity can overcome even the coldest evil, serving as a magical adventure for children or the inner child in each of us.

8) Impact: The End of The Age of Dinosaurs

The major fall exhibition Impact: The End of the Age of Dinosaurs explores the striking before-and-after story of the asteroid impact 66 million years ago that annihilated non-bird dinosaurs, along with 75 percent of the plant and animal species on the planet, and opened the door for new ecosystems and animals to evolve, including an explosion of mammal diversity. With fossils and fossil casts, life-sized models, an immersive animation, and engaging interactives, Impact reveals the latest scientific understanding of this cataclysmic event, taking visitors through a story of extinction, survival, recovery, and adaptation spanning millions of years. Visitors will encounter intricate models including a 27-foot mosasaur, a 30-foot long-necked plesiosaur, Triceratops, and other extinct species; a stunning diorama showing the diversity of Cretaceous life; an immersive video experience of the asteroid impact; a digital interactive about how scientists track near-Earth objects, and much more.

9) Keith Smith: Synecdoche

Bruce Silverstein Gallery is pleased to present Keith Smith: Synecdoche, curated by Megan N. Liberty, the gallery’s fifth solo exhibition of the artist’s work. The title Synecdoche, “a figure of speech in which a part represents the whole,” captures the conceptual premise of this exhibition and a central tenet of Smith’s practice. In his own words, “pictures can, no, must give up their sovereignty for the sake of the total.”

The exhibition brings together over forty works from Smith’s groundbreaking early experiments in photography and bookmaking from the 1960s to the 1980s, a period of profound innovation. Drawn from the artist’s personal archive, the collages, works on fabric, postcards, and artist books in this exhibition offer a rare opportunity to appreciate a true polymath who drew upon a vast range of mediums and techniques to explore themes of love, self-identity, sexuality, friendship, and domesticity. Over six decades, Smith has consistently challenged and expanded the boundaries of art, influencing generations of artists working at the intersection of image, text, and structure.

The show’s profile continues to soar: Sunshine’s social media presence has exploded—with several Instagram Reels surpassing one million views—and his Ivy League tour (including Harvard, Yale, and Brown) introduced Rakugo to thousands of new fans. In addition to its ongoing New York run, Sunshine has been performing around the world, bringing Rakugo to audiences in Australia, Saudi Arabia, India, the United Kingdom, and beyond. 12) Chris Mann's Santa We're Ready

Viral sensation, Billboard-charting recording artist, and Broadway star Chris Mann is making spirits bright this season with the release of his brand-new holiday EP, Santa, We’re Ready, dropping November 14. Packed with swagger, sparkle, and Mann’s world-class vocals, the 5-song EP delivers a fresh dose of holiday magic with his signature “big band soul” sound. Leading the charge is the title track, “Santa, We’re Ready”—a festive, feel-good, sing-along bop poised to become a seasonal staple.

The single, “Santa, We’re Ready,” is a bold classic-rock-meets-big-band anthem that blends timeless holiday cheer with modern flair. With its driving horns, irresistible groove, and call-and-response catchy hook, it’s designed to get listeners out of their seats, hands in the air, and ready to shout along: “Santa, we’re ready!”

The EP offers a mix of nostalgic classics and bold new twists. Listeners will groove to a Latin-inspired take on “Winter Wonderland,” melt into a velvet-smooth, jazz trio rendition of “The Christmas Song,” and be blown away by a jaw-dropping a cappella arrangement of “O Christmas Tree”—with Mann layering all 13 vocal parts himself to create a lush, choral explosion unlike anything else this holiday season. These classics shine brighter than ever—elevated, reinvented, and unmistakably Chris Mann.

17) 92NY Harkness Dance Center Presents

Hélène Simoneau Danse: Late Bloomer

World Premiere

In Person

November 14 & 15, 2025 at 7 PM

Harkness Dance Center at 92NY presents the world premiere of Late Bloomer by French-Canadian choreographer Hélène Simoneau. Late Bloomer explores the complexities of human belonging and connection, examining how we show up for each other, the responsibility of the bystander, and the consequences of being socially cast aside.

In collaboration with award-winning composer Angélica Negrón, dramaturg Melanie George, costume designer Quinn Czejkowski, and lighting designer David Ferri, Simoneau and her ensemble of dancers explore group dynamics in society, asking: How is belonging connected to survival? What separates true belonging from merely fitting in?

Simoneau uses movement to reflect both on the ways we relate to each other as a community as well as the ways we fail each other, taking what is typically unspoken in social dynamics and putting it into physical language.

Part of Women Move the World, 92NY’s 2025/26 Harkness Mainstage Series, Late Bloomer asks us to reckon with our complicity — not just in who is excluded, but in the choices, silences, and systems that allow that exclusion to happen.

A BLOODY NEW HOLIDAY MUSICAL

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 13
