I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

The Art Tour is a very different show than you might think it is if you just hear the title. It is not a story about people embarking on a tour to view art, but rather a couple embarking on a tour to sell art. The former may have made a more interesting show than this one. This one doesn't seem very realistic. It seems unlikely that a seemingly intelligent girl like Deb would let her ex-boyfriend Thomas convince her to quit her job and travel around the country to sell her artwork, even though she has not yet sold any, especially when he has already shown himself to be unreliable, having abruptly broken up with her with little reason.

Thomas is not a likeable character. Deb has plenty of reasons to stay away from him, but she doesn't. Later, he gives her even more reason not to want to be friends with him, much less romantically involved with him again. He does some things that most would consider unforgivable, but she just lets it go with the barest of apologies. This makes her character somewhat annoying and also unlikable. Staying with him makes it seem like she doesn't have enough respect for herself.

The actors do have decent chemistry; however, the characters just don't belong together. The acting is good. It is the way the characters are written that makes them unlikable. The singing voices are also nice. There are a few cute songs, but most are not that memorable. One song about trying to forget everything that is going wrong in your life and drive away from your problems is particularly relatable. However, it may be triggering for some people who are dealing with particularly challenging times in their own lives.

The set doesn't provide enough sense of place.  They are allegedly travelling around in this beautiful country, convening with nature, but except for a few painted backdrops, it's all left to the imagination. There aren't even that many props. Thus, it's hard to picture it and feel what they are feeling. On the whole, this is definitely not a tour to remember; in fact, you may want to skip it.
